Found in the French commune of Arraute-Charritte, this typical basque house is bursting with understated charm and an inviting atmosphere that’s hard to ignore. Step foot inside and you’ll find yourself longing for easy mornings and long, contented afternoons. Start with coffee in bed as you stay under the plush covers for a while longer to finish one more chapter of the novel you’re reading. When a hungry tummy can no longer be ignored, pad downstairs to put together a breakfast of croissants and scrambled eggs – although it can be enjoyed at the dining table, you may as well elevate every meal by dining alfresco in the garden. Days at home can be spent between the living room, where you can stretch out on the couch to get some more reading down, the kitchen, where you can regularly top up your coffee, and the outdoors, where the fresh country air will invigorate the senses.
