Located in the peaceful village of Gweek at the head of the Helford River, this beautiful farmhouse is a vision of serenity amidst its glorious gardens and overlooking the meandering waters. As you step through the garden gate and towards the wisteria-clad exterior, you’ll instantly be enchanted by the manicured lawns flanking it on both sides. Enter through the inviting blue door and into the hall whereupon you’ll find the cosy living area ready to ease you into holiday living. Curl up on the sofas with a mug of tea and a book from the shelves while listening to the fireplace crackle, or catch up on emails and postcards to home at the handy window-facing desk space, pausing for breaks to take in the views of the garden and the river. We love the bright kitchen’s window seat, double Belfast sink and chestnut worktops, ready to cook up homemade feasts to be enjoyed around the large dining table, while the garden room is ideal for closing the night with board games and a glass of wine, or even a morning yoga session after waking up in the elegantly dressed bedrooms upstairs. No matter what time of day, however, you’re sure to... enjoy a soak in the swoon-worthy roll-top tub. With gardens both to the front and the back of this impressive home, you’re spoilt for choice with sunny spots to while away carefree afternoons amidst the roses, apple and magnolia trees, while nothing says a celebration quite like gathering for alfresco barbecues and marshmallow roasting around the fire pit on the enclosed patio. Outside of your home, you’ll find a couple of pubs, a village shop and a post office within easy walking distance, while the Cornish Seal Sanctuary in the village is sure to delight guests of all ages. You’re also in a prime position to explore the Lizard Peninsula with its rugged cliffs and sandy beaches, and the Helford River, with its hidden creeks and gentle waters all vying for your attention.
