This charming farmhouse, nestled in the Portuguese countryside, promises a peaceful base for making memories with your loved ones. Beautifully restored, it has just the right mix of old and new – retaining its character, but with all the modern conveniences you’d want in a home-away-from-home. Wander inside, and the home is light and bright, with comfortable furnishings and rich brown beams stretching overhead. In summer, it provides the perfect respite from the heat of the sun, while in winter, your feet will stay nice and toasty with the welcome underfloor heating. Our favourite spot has to be the outdoor space. It’s easy to imagine days spent here, enjoying the cool water of your sparkling pool as the sun warms your skin. Perhaps you’d prefer to stretch out on a sun lounger, armed with a cocktail and a good book, as you listen to the delighted chatter of your children playing on the swing nearby. If an afternoon siesta is calling your name, climb onto your hammock for a little doze as the breeze drifts gently by. If you can tear yourself away from the relaxing vibe of this home, there’s so much to enjoy in the local area. Head north, and you’ll find the historic town of Silves. If the beach is what you seek, drive south and you can enjoy the white, sandy beaches of Armaçao de Pera. Just the spot to prop up one of the beach bars or enjoy a spot of lunch.
