Sitting within the winding network of streets and alleyways in the historic centre of Cádiz, this apartment sits within a period building and still bears a few traces of heritage, not least the handsome patches of exposed stonework and wooden ceiling beams. However, it's fair to say that the bulk of the interior is pretty contemporary by comparison, from the stark white walls and bare industrial lighting to the decently sized kitchen replete with pretty tiling and sleek surfaces. It doesn't get the most natural light thanks to the proximity of neighbouring buildings, but there are a pair of small – and we do mean small – balconies, from which you can get a blast of fresh air during hot afternoons. One thing we should also point out is just how pleasant the building's communal lobby is, with its huge skylight bringing in plenty of natural light that illuminates the marble floor and house plant collection. It makes for a lovely place to stop and gather your thoughts after getting in from exploring the city. And there's plenty to see and do nearby. The pretty Oratorio de la Santa Cueva lies just around the corner, while the famous Torre Tavira doesn't take too long to reach on foot. As well as that, the city's unique coastal position means that there's a great choice of promenades and beaches with which to fill days.
