If you do like to be beside the seaside, this apartment all of a few footsteps from the beach and the North Sea is sure to be right up your street. Even if the weather isn't exactly conducive for sunbathing and swimming, the views out through the bay window and over the Julliet balcony are sure to tide you over until the sun makes a reappearance. Even though the location is the main draw here, we're still suitably impressed by the home's interior. Sure, it's on the smaller side, but the open layout has been intelligently designed so that it doesn't feel cramped in the slightest – there's a wealth of sleek surface space in the kitchen that should make home cooking a breeze. The design is fresh and contemporary too – all pastel colours, bare wooden floorboards and the odd houseplant or two. Aside from the beach, Kirkleatham Museum is less than ten minutes' drive away and is worth a visit for the exhibitions, gardens and aviary. The North Yorks Moor National Park starts less than twenty minutes' drive away and offers walking routes aplenty.

About Redcar
Set on the Yorkshire Coast, Redcar still has that Victorian holiday vibe. It’s easy to imagine moustachioed bathers in their stripy long-john swimwear paddling about on the long, sandy beach. Climb to the top of Redcar Beacon to survey the town, looking out over the Victorian pier. Follow the sand in one direction, and you’ll reach bustling Saltburn-on-the-Sea, just along the coast, where a vintage tram trundles up the cliffside...
