Not too far from Whitby's town centre – about five minutes on foot, give or take – this light-filled apartment is the ideal base for a seaside getaway. You'll relish retreating to the Scandi-inspired living area after a day of sightseeing. Kick back on the sofa with a copy of Bram Stoker's Dracula – partially inspired by Whitby Abbey – and enjoy a cosy night at home. Feeling peckish? Pad into the sleek kitchen and rustle up a tasty dish using some local seafood and dig in around the dining table, or order a takeaway of fish and chips if you're not in the mood to cook. When it's time for bed, head upstairs and drift off underneath the star-dotted skylights – you can't beat the view of Pannett Park across the street. Of course, you'll spend most of your time here out and about, discovering Whitby's many treasures. Spend the afternoon basking in the sunshine on Whitby Beach or wandering along the seafront promenade. Climb the 199 steps for spectacular views or visit the famous abbey ruins on the top of the hill. On your way home, crawl into one of the many traditional pubs in town for a drink... or two – the perfect end to an adventure-filled day.

Both bedrooms have sloped ceilings, so please mind your head
This apartment isn't on the ground floor and it's set over two levels – there's no lift, so it may not be suitable for those with limited mobility
There are a limited number of first-come, first-serve parking spaces on Spring Vale and Chubb Hill, a short walk away – as parking can be tricky in Whitby, we suggest arriving by train and exploring on foot

When the sun sets, ghost tours amble through the cobbled streets, revealing the town’s dramatic history. By day it’s all idyllic fishing village vibes, with a hint of Victorian holidays.
