Experience a rare stay at this 14th-century historical estate that sits on the edge of Florence – quite literally, this home is as impressive as its Tuscan hill views. A paragon of Renaissance architecture, this home has hosted Botticelli and Michelangelo in its time. Set amongst 30 hectares of manicured gardens and rolling Tuscan hills, this impressive home offers five characterful buildings where there’s no doubt that you’ll make lifelong memories. Giving a nod to the home's heritage, luxurious rooms with Florentine charm and ornate furnishings make for a perfect setting to while away the hours with your loved ones. Make a selection from your wine cellar and pop open a bottle of fine wine produced in the surrounding vineyards – we recommend a private tour and tasting at your local vineyard, arranged by your host. The dining rooms, both inside and out, are thoughtfully designed for your guests to celebrate special occasions and share delicious feasts at banquet tables. You'll be able to sample unforgettable menus created by a dedicated team of chefs who use the finest local produce of the Tuscan region – your host can arrange for nightly soirées so you can dine amongst the sumptuous scent of olive groves. Undoubtedly the stunning twenty bedrooms are a dream to wake up in each morning. Retaining their authentic Italian character with elegant collections of antique furniture, each features an opulent en-suite – we love the freestanding bathtubs and majestic Italian marbles so you can bathe like nobility. Speaking of bathing, there is an impressive spa for guests to experience an unforgettable journey through the sensations of aromatherapy, chromotherapy and hydrotherapy. Inspired by the ancient tradition of baths from ancient Roman civilizations, the spa here offers a Turkish bath, sauna, steam room, hydro-pool and massage room so you can feel utterly restored and invigorated. Outside, you’ll find two pools amongst the impeccable grounds, as well as a sparkling lake and sprawling woodlands. Spend days stretched out poolside, turning pages of your new read, then enjoy a balmy evening walk through the cypress-tree-lined trails – this is our favourite way to spend the golden hour. Florence city centre, the heart of the Italian Renaissance movement, is a short drive away. Have a private driver take you to the city’s finest restaurants, authentic gelaterias and galleries holding the world’s artistic masterpieces. Or, have your host arrange a hot air balloon tour for a truly memorable experience of the breathtaking Tuscan countryside.

About Florence West

Machiavelli, da Vinci, Botticelli, Michaelangelo, Galileo - it’s hard to concisely capture Florence’s monumental impact on the arts, science and philosophy, but a swift run-through of some of the main names active in the Republic during the Renaissance era gives you an idea of just how influential it really was. Today’s tourists will be only too happy to learn that much of the Tuscan city’s historic centre remains unchanged since...
