Dating all the way back to 1690, this historic, riverside castle is an enchanting way to spend a holiday in the Tamar Valley. With 55 acres at your disposal, you can walk the grounds, imagining yourself in a Jane Austen novel, eat macaroons in one of the forgotten corners, and picnic in the mid-afternoon sun. Inside, you’ll find all the trappings of a manor house, and we encourage evenings in front of the fireplace, whiskey in hand. Find a spot in the drawing room where you can enjoy classic literature with a steaming cup of coffee, put a friendly wager on a game of pool, and elevate dining experiences by coming together for a roast under the chandeliers. Wander the halls of the beautiful home, marvelling at its understated elegance and palatial details, and treat yourself to an indulgent bubble bath in the clawfoot tub after you’ve been out on a long walk with the dog. Spend entire days in and around the heated pool when you’re not out exploring the surroundings by car or on foot. Gather around for board game or movie nights in the living room after dark and when the day catches up with you, excuse... yourself to find refuge in one of the remarkable bedrooms.
