Built in 1883, this hotel is the oldest house in Orlando. We've absolutely fallen in love with its romantic courtyards, flowering paths, and luscious greenery, and think it provides the perfect antidote to the cement of the city. Awake in the bright room, enjoying a leisurely cup of coffee by the beautiful bay window as you read the morning paper and plan how to spend the rest of the day. As there's no kitchen here, your first port of call may very well be one of the fantastic eateries on your doorstep. Then choices to make, Will you be heading for one of the nearby lakes, where you'll find striking Floridian scenery and a range of watersports on offer? Or perhaps the local boutiques are more of the day's pace? Then there are all those amusement parks for which Orlando is famed – including Universal Studios, just over ten miles away. For those wishing to take it nice and easy for the day, we love the idea of simply lounging around the wonderfully perfumed communal garden, a good book – and maybe a glass of wine – in hand. When evening rolls around, snag a spot in the on-site lounge... or grab a drink from the hotel's bar as the tropical night envelopes you.
