Lavish and light-filled, this apartment is just what you want in the heart of Paris’ Le Marais neighbourhood. Just a few footsteps away, you can get your art fix at the Picasso museum, and the surrounding narrow streets are Paris at its finest – sandstone buildings, cute galleries, and tables and chairs spilling out from neighbourhood bistros. Parquet floors, crisp white walls and high ceilings inside sing of 19th century Paris, along with the French windows letting the natural light stream in. The big living room is filled with curios and trinkets and feels as though it's been furnished from the nearby vintage shops and antique markets. We love the ornate fireplace – a nod to the building’s history. There’s a little shamble of paperbacks to choose from and an office nook if you need to get some work done. The huge, dine-in kitchen is just as sunny as the living room with a sleek breakfast bar providing additional prep space. For a bit of luxury, there’s an egg-shaped, free-standing tub in the bathroom.

Home truths

This apartment is on the third floor, but there is a lift in the building

The computer workspace is in a nook in the living room, rather than a separate office space

This home is in a central spot, so noise is to be expected

The entrance to this home is shared with the building's other residents

Parking in Paris can be tricky, so we recommend sticking to the easily accessible public transport where possible – though we think the best way to see the city is on foot

You’ll be required to sign a digital rental agreement from the host prior to your stay for security and insurance purposes. Your host will send this to you after your booking is confirmed
