It might be a cliche to say that Hackney is one of the trendiest parts of London, but that doesn't mean it's not true – especially with homes like this to be discovered there. The Victorian terrace has been redesigned by the RIBA Award-winning architect firm Emil Eve and it'll have anyone fond of clean, mid-century design weak at the knees. If you're not so swayed by aesthetics, the pretty, plant-filled garden should win you over, as will the charming cafes and restaurants on the nearby Chatsworth Road.

About Hackney
Hackney – the name of this neighbourhood is now more likely to evoke the image of a hipster on a bicycle with a sourdough loaf stuffed in their satchel rather than anything else. Filled with great independent restaurants, cafes and pubs, this part of town is a delight to explore. The green expanses of London Fields and Victoria Park are pretty unbeatable on a summer's day and be sure to check out Broadway Market and Victoria Park Village too, where you'll wander through leafy streets of period houses, and rub shoulders with London's hip young arts and media types.

Feeling lazy? Forget Dominos - these creative and passionate chefs with a wood-fire oven make what is probably the best takeaway pizza in town. And of course, they deliver.

This quirky little local gem is a one of the area’s best kept secrets. The perfect balance of quality sound & vision with cosy arm-chair seating and décor make the Castle a perfect indie picturehouse.

Get your caffeine fix at Millfields Coffee
With its generously sized kitchen and in-house chef, Millfields is as much about casual all day dining as it is about coffee. We recommended their Turkish eggs.

Enjoy Chinese dishes at Lucky & Joy
Snug, homely restaurant serving delicious Chinese food for lunch & dinner, with plenty of great vegan options. Kitsch decor, friendly service, and a relaxed cafe-style atmosphere make it a perfect place to go with friends.
