Bordering Venice's San Marco and Castello sestiere, this magnificent 15th-century palazzo is absolutely breathtaking. Best known to Venetians and visiting tourists for its carved facade depicting an angel, an unexplained hole, and a rather convoluted story involving a monk, a monkey, and the devil – we're sure your hosts will be happy to explain in fuller detail. The interior sees a harmonious marriage of state-of-the-art features – including a stainless steel chef's kitchen and contemporary furniture – combined with original features, such as stunning floor-to-ceiling lead windows, preserved fresco remains and exposed beams lining the soaring ceilings. Wake up each morning and rouse yourself from the comfortable beds before opening the balcony doors to sip your coffee looking over the Rio della Canonica, known for the iconic 'Bridge of Sighs'. Plan your day over breakfast at the gleaming glass-topped dining table before heading out to explore this romantic Renaissance city. The magnificence of St Mark's Square and its iconic basilica is just a couple of minutes away on foot. Continue towards the Grand Canal and board an eastbound vaporetto heading for the beautiful Biennale Gardens.
