Situated on Saddle Peak Road, 600m above sea level, this spectacular Topanga retreat offers you the chance to reconnect with nature and rediscover that long-lost, free-thinking bohemian spirit that Southern California used to be so well known for. Nowhere is that better demonstrated than in the home's unusual geodesic design, which is not only built to resist the elements but offers outstanding energy efficiency and an incredibly strong structure using minimal materials. It's what life out here is all about. Its interior is a little more conventional in appearance, with stunning landscape paintings on the walls and elegant mid-century furniture in the open-plan living/dining area and kitchen. Sliding doors provide a seamless transition between interior and exterior spaces. Fortunately, given LA's year-round climate, you're likely to spend plenty of time outside, drinking in the view at the outdoor seating, playing table tennis and exploring the expansive grounds. A network of hiking trails crisscrosses the landscape, providing you with adventures further afield. Alternatively, jump in the car for the eight-mile drive down to Malibu for dawn surf sessions and sun-soaked days at the beach.
