Mykonos may have a reputation as the most hedonistic island in the Cyclades, but it's just as easy to find villas where it's easy to completely switch off and relax – take this home close to the western coastline, for example. It makes sense to start with the remarkable outdoor space given the generous climate that the locale enjoys. Spread out over four-and-a-half acres, it won't take great leaps of imagination to picture long afternoons spent paddling in the swimming pool, cooking up dinner on the barbecue or simply admiring the view of Aegean Sea and Mykonos Town from the comfort of a lounger. The home itself is traditional in style, with a wealth of whitewashed walls, wooden beams and a feature wood-burning fireplace around which to gather when the evenings get cooler. However, it must be said that there are more contemporary aspects, including the minimalist kitchen and bedrooms. You'll quickly find that the surrounding area of St John is pretty peaceful, but there are lively attractions not too far away. Ornos beach is the closest seaside spot at just under 2km away, while the restaurants and nightlife in Mykonos Town can be reached in a 5km drive.

About Agios Ioannis

Sun, sand and peace and quiet are all on offer in the small village of Agios Ioannis. Known for having southwest Mykonos' most beautiful beach, the area is picturesque, with white houses scattered along a hilly landscape. The vibe is definitely low-key – the sea view won't be interrupted by sea sports, and there isn't a bustling nightlife scene. Instead, you've got stunning sunset views to look forward to and...
