We could fall in love with this villa a million times over. Every view thereafter will pale in comparison, but you’ll always have the memory of what it was like to wake up to the panoramic vista of an active volcano. Mount Etna demands to be seen from every corner of this ridiculously beautiful villa – the infinity pool is even raised to get the best view possible. A long driveway leads up to the estate, passing through the groves, setting the tone for a magical stay. More of a compound than a home, this place bares all the characteristics of a traditional farmhouse – bright red shutters, old stone walls, and terracotta roofs. The classic feel continues inside, with the addition of a stark slate floor, although interspersed with modern touches. Make the most of the countryside setting and embrace every possible moment out here. Admire the sweeping views across the Alcantara Valley, Nebrodi Park, and Mount Etna. Guided tours can take you to the summit, or you can explore the valley’s cycling routes, or simply enjoy it from your garden in the foothills. Soak up the sun, take dips in the teal waters, and tuck into barbecue dinners... around the outdoor table. If you never wanted to leave this slice of heaven, we’d get it. But Castiglione di Sicilia is just a ten-minute drive away, a characteristically Sicilian village. And the area is flush with vineyards and opportunities for wine tours – just ask your lovely host to arrange a tasting session.
