Dating back to the early 1800s, this former farmhouse is perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Not only is it surrounded by beautiful countryside (check) and within easy reach of a whole host of wineries (double check), but it has plenty of outdoor space, with no shortage of loungers for kicking back and soaking up the glorious Tuscan sunshine. We could easily spend all day unwinding here – the traditional design features alone are enough to make us want to stay put – but we wouldn’t blame you if you wanted to get out and see what the rest of the region has to offer. Go for a stroll through the neighbouring vineyards or jump in the car and head into Gambassi Terme – an ancient town named after the area’s natural hot springs – to get a taste of local life. Or, if you’re starting to miss the sights and sounds of the city, take a day trip to Florence and indulge in a spot of sightseeing. Just don’t forget to snap a selfie with Michelangelo’s David.

Home truths

Due to the location of this home, we recommend hiring a car to get the most out of your stay

This home is composed of a main house and a separate annex

Watch out for the steps on the ground floor of the villa

The top floors of both the villa and the annex have low, sloping ceilings, so mind your head

We'd recommend a maximum guest count of twelve adults and two children here, with the attic bedroom best suited for younger guests

Your host can provide a cot and high chair for free upon request

The swimming pool is only available for use from the end of April to mid-October

While the sixth bedroom and bathroom aren't photographed, we expect the style and quality to be consistent with the rest of the home

About San Miniato

Halfway between Pisa and Florence, San Miniato is one of the most beautiful towns in Tuscany, and that’s saying something. It’s perched atop three hills overlooking the Arno valley, and the panoramas of the Tuscan hills live up to all expectations. The town centre is full of well-preserved medieval buildings, and has a particular concentration of churches – we’re particular fans of the Chiesa del Santissimo Crocifisso. Every November, San...

Host

This home is managed by Oliver

This home is managed directly by a business. A member of their staff will be your point of contact before and during your stay. Nearly twenty years ago, Oliver and his friend began curating the world's most unique and rustic getaways. Driven by their own unforgettable experience at a chateau, they have grown remarkably since then. Much like Plum, they believe in hand-picked luxury that doesn't break the bank.
