Views, views, views! Cubist Viewpoint is a an extraordinary home for a number of reasons, but the expansive views over the mountains and ocean, and the striking modernist architecture are surely among its most striking features. It might not be ideally located for those wanting to explore the more central parts of LA - it's out on the edge of the city, perched just above Malibu - but for a group gathering, where you want to relax together and enjoy breathtaking vistas, this home is pretty hard to beat.

Home truths

None of the bedrooms are enormous and some feel a tad bare - this is a home that focuses on its communal spaces more than its bedrooms

There is some slightly unsightly gym equipment and office furniture in some of the bedrooms (as visible in the photos)

None of the bedrooms have bedroom reading lights

It would be a bit of a tight squeeze to fit 13 guests around the dining table

The fifth bedroom has a king bed and bunkbeds. The bunkbeds should only be used by children, which might not be suitable for all guests

The home is set across multiple levels and there are quite a few stairs to contend with

This home is managed by Larry

This home is managed directly by its owner who will be your point of contact before and during your stay. Larry (who grew up in Northern California) is a criminal prosecutor and his wife Michelle (who grew up in the LA area) is a civil attorney. They built this house in 2002 and raised their three kids in it and though they now have their primary residence closer to their workplaces, they still enjoy staying in the house whenever they can, around their rental bookings. In the rare event that Larry can't be there himself, he will have his adult son Jacob welcome guests on his behalf.
