Set into a dramatic cliffside on the Sicilian coast, this modern-style villa is just moments from the sea. A terraced garden stretches before the home, with a shimmering swimming pool inviting you for a dip at the end. Loungers scattered across the lawn provide spots to soak up the Sicilian rays and there’s a spot to dine on the patio. Heading up the terracotta stairs, the first-floor terrace is fabulous – a shaded lounge and dining area looking out over the endless Tyrrhenian Sea. Slide open the glass double doors to blend the boundary between the terrace and living room, letting the sea breeze circulate. In here, a corner brick fireplace keeps things feeling traditional, along with the mosaic tiles in the big kitchen. On the ground floor, there’s a separate studio-style apartment for those that prefer a little more privacy, decked out in sunshine yellow that sings of holidays on the coast. You’re out in the peace and quiet of the coastal countryside here, but in just over half an hour you can reach Sicily’s buzzing capital by car. Explore Palermo’s street eats, lively bars and history spanning from 5th-century Phoenicians to glorious baroque opera houses.

About Palermo

Sicily's capital Palermo is a heady mix of ancient cultures with its Roman, Norman, Arab and Phoenician heritage, which has infused into its incredible blend of architecture and cuisine.
