On a white-wash, pedestrianised street typical of the pretty old town of Altea, this apartment puts you in the midst of family-run tapas joints, romantic restaurants with courtyard gardens and the ancient mosaic-domed churches that dominate the skyline. In the open living area, you've got a kitchenette good for the basics, encouraging nights out at the restaurants in nearby Plaza de la Iglesia. Apart from the fab location, the bedrooms caught our eye – one with a long window looking out over the ramshackle rooftops of Altea and the other with French doors onto a little balcony overlooking the street.
