Situated in stunning Fira, this home really ticks our boxes when it comes to location. From the Jacuzzi, you can drink in sunset views across the Aegean Sea and out to the caldera as you sip on a glass of bubbles – just bear in mind, your neighbours may be doing the same across the terrace, so if privacy’s high on your agenda, this home may not be to your taste. The cave-like interiors can take some getting used to but certainly add a dollop of character to the home, and an easy stroll takes you into Fira town and its vibrant social scene.

The décor is simple and generic and the aesthetics are not quite up to Plum Guide's usual standards – we've made an exception to let this one into the collection on account of its great location in Santorini
Due to the villa's cave-like style, the home lacks natural light, particularly in the bedroom area – those who prefer a brighter space may wish to look elsewhere
We think the kitchen is better suited to lighter bites than large meals
