Set in the peaceful village of Waberthwaite, this converted barn is nestled between mountains and sea to explore all that the Lake District has to offer. Perfect for keen adventurers, Scafell Pike – England's highest peak, is within a 28 kilometre reach while a twenty-minute walk will take you to the sea at the Esk river estuary – great for tranquil walks with furry friends in tow. What’s more, the garden of this home sits on a neighbouring stream for wonderful summer picnics. Inside, the cottage itself is relatively modern, with a beamed open plan living space big enough to cook up a hearty family meal. Pop over the road to the butchers for a Waberthwaite birthplace delicacy – the traditional Cumberland sausage.

About The Lake District
Poets and novelists have often escaped to the Lake District for a spot of inspiration. Famously, Wordsworth pondered about daffodils and clouds during his time here. The undulating hills are tracked with drystone walls while sheep graze, and farmsteads enjoy untouched beauty for miles around. England’s biggest lake, Windermere, cuts through a valley, sleek as glass and hosts a litany of cosy-pub-filled towns and water sports venues along its shores....
