This chic apartment is on the fourth floor of a beautiful townhouse in the affluent neighbourhood of the Upper East Side, just a few minutes walk away from Central Park. Striking artwork adorns the walls inside, adding a pop of character to plush furnishings and light-filled rooms. The living room feels lived in like a comfy blanket with its distressed rug and board games for quiet evenings in. Though you’re in the heart of New York here, so you’d probably rather head out for a carriage ride through Central Park or to the trendy bars and fine restaurants of the Upper East Side. If you want to explore further, it’s just 2-3 stops on the subway to Times Square and all that Midtown has to offer.

Home truths

There's only one proper bedroom - the third guest will sleep on a sofa-bed in a room adjoining the master bedroom (separated only by a glass door which might be a privacy issue for some)

The home is located on the 4th floor and there's no elevator - not everyone will appreciate the free workout

The kitchen is a bit narrow and slightly dated in feel

About Sutton Place

Sutton Place is a cosy, affluent enclave on the East River at the upper end of Midtown. One of New York City's smallest and most exclusive neighbourhoods, its six or so tree-lined blocks are marked with regal townhouses and lovely pre-war apartment buildings. Unlike other districts in the city, Sutton Place’s cross streets end in cul-de-sacs (which means that traffic is light), opening up into delightful parks offering astounding views...

Host

This home is managed by Giampiero

This home is managed directly by a business. A member of their staff will be your point of contact before and during your stay. Giampiero has lived in New York for thirty years now but still feels very Italian! That's where he'll likely be when his apartment is available to rent. If you like cooking, then try to follow some of the recipes in his cookery book Un Pasto al Sole which was co-published with his brother in Italy. His garden is his haven.
