Nestled in a quiet Kensington spot, this townhouse is the picture of London living. The period features are classic Victorian – think fireplaces in each living room (there are two), big sash windows and hardwood floors – but there's a modern touch here, too. Most of all, it feels like a place where a family can escape the hustle and bustle. Whether you're sharing a meal in the conservatory dining room, working from home at the writer's desk or snuggling up in the cosy lounges, you'll be happy calling this place home. The private patio is an added bonus and the perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee and a pastry (there's a fantastic bakery next door) before heading off to explore London. You're just a stone's throw from the museum quarter, where you can roam the halls of the Natural History Museum and the V&A. If shopping is more your bag, it's a ten-minute walk to the famous Harrods, and there's an array of boutiques, restaurants and coffee shops to discover on King's Road – just five minutes on foot. Best of all, three different underground stations are within walking distance, so no matter where you want to go... in the city, you'll be well-connected.

Home truths
At full capacity, the fifth guest will be sleeping on a day bed in their own room – we think this room is best for a child
If you're travelling with little ones, a cot and high chair can be provided – just let your hosts know in advance
For a three-bedroom, we think this home is on the smaller side, especially upstairs – with that in mind, it’s better suited for a small family or two couples
This townhome is set over a number of levels so there are a lot of stairs to navigate
You won't find a welcome hamper or basic essentials here, so we'd recommend packing some bits and bobs to get you started

About Knightsbridge
Opulence is the name of the game in Knightsbridge. Ideally located for exploring many of central London's key sights, Knightsbridge is also a mecca for high-end shopoholics. Thrifty types should look elsewhere!
