The Harpy Houseboat

The Harpy Houseboat, Plum Guide home in London

This unique houseboat was recently spotted by a producer shooting a film in London. Formerly the HMS Harpy, this boat was once a landing stage for King George V, so it’s no stranger to the rich and famous. Moored near Tower Bridge, it boasts some of the most incredible views in the city – the main thing that caught this producer's eye. From the deck, stand in the same spot King George V once did and admire the breathtaking panoramas of the London skyline. The interiors are deceptively spacious, with room for up to ten people. There’s a large kitchen diner for dinner parties (featuring a table that was designed for Churchill's home, Chartwell) as well as a snug lounge for more intimate gatherings. There’s even a dedicated workspace, but we doubt you’ll want to do any work while you’re here.

Boho Love Nest

Favoured by everyone from actors to writers and tech company CEOs, this cosy NYC pad is the perfect spot to explore the Big Apple. Nestled in the heart of Greenwich Village, there’s plenty to do in the neighbourhood, from picking up fresh produce at Union Square greenmarket to browsing the books in Strand Bookstore. You’re also just three blocks from Washington Square Park. The apartment may be compact, but it’s easy to see why our star-studded guests love it – the well-equipped kitchen is perfect for rustling up home-cooked meals, while the bright and airy bedroom boasts wonderful views of the tree-lined street and traditional brownstones.

Want a taste of the high life? This home in Hollywood Hills is the epitome of luxury. Perched high above the valley, you’ll be treated to spectacular views of Downtown Los Angeles and the surrounding mountains from every room in the house. On the lower level is an infinity pool, while the first floor has a barbecue terrace perfect for sundowners and dinner parties. Everything feels high-end, which is why it comes as no surprise that a certain pop star recently stayed here. Part of the reason they chose the home is that it has everything you need, including a gym, a hot tub, two plush lounges and five spacious bedrooms. Throw in a 24/7 concierge and a private chef, and you won’t ever want to leave.

High On The Hill

Another popstar-approved Plum home is this elegant mansion. Set high above the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, the six-bedroom home offers a taste of laid-back glamour. There are multiple areas to socialise and entertain your guests, from the private cinema room to the open-plan living and dining room with its elegant arched window that shows off the views. Outside, you have a stunning pool terrace looking out over the city – we imagine this view has inspired several songs. You’ll want to spend most of your time soaking up the Californian sunshine out here, but if you feel like getting out and about, Runyon Canyon is just on your doorstep, while Downtown Los Angeles is just a half-hour drive away.

Hollywood Golden Age

Recently booked by a certain singer-songwriter and film producer couple, this stunning Los Angeles home has bundles of character. Its elegant yet cosy rooms are filled with artwork and decorative architectural features like ornate fireplaces and Art Deco windows. No surprise, considering it was built in 1934 at the height of Golden Age Hollywood. The extensive kitchen is perfect for getting creative, and you can enjoy meals in the peaceful courtyard dining area. The couple mentioned they prioritise privacy, and this home certainly delivers on that front. Set on a hillside surrounded by greenery, you can enjoy a private dip in the pool and a sunbathing session without feeling overlooked. At sunset, pour a glass of wine and head up to the balcony to watch the sun light up the valley in a golden glow – it's your own little oasis.

Ink & Parchment

This home stands out so much that it’s no surprise it’s been spotted by producers scouting out stays for high-profile actors. A former schoolhouse dating back to 1914, this six-bedroom home is perfect for families looking to stay in Surrey. Should you feel like exploring, you’re just a fifteen-minute walk from Godalming’s town centre and a half-hour drive from the South Downs National Park. Back at home, make the most of the swimming pool (yes, really) and the half acre of grounds – there’s plenty of space for kids to run around and for adults to enjoy alfresco barbecues (weather permitting, of course – this is England after all). Large windows flood the interior with light and the open-plan kitchen and living area boasts tranquil views of the garden. You’ll also find a cosier second lounge ideal for board games and movie nights. Before you head to bed, gather by the outdoor fireplace for a nightcap with your loved ones to end the night in style.
