Top 20 Hansaviertel, Berlin vacation rentals & luxury serviced apartments
As the smallest neighbourhood in Berlin, Hansaviertel is a real feast for the eyes if you love Bauhaus architecture. 9 out of 10 homes in this part of the city were destroyed during the war, completely erasing the extravagant homes of the pre-war bohemian upper class from the face of the earth. Rebuilt in the 1950s and 1960s, Hansaviertel was transformed into a modern microcosm by international architects like Walter Gropius, Arne Jacobsen, Oscar Niemeyer and Alvar Aalto creating a mix of modern high-rises, low-rises and detached family houses. Taking up a small piece of land between Moabit and Tiergarten, Hansaviertel is super central, but because of its riverside location and plenty of green spaces, it feels a little like a city within a city. For the Bauhaus-interested, Hansaviertel offers mesmerising walks through a modern cityscape, but if you’re looking for some more liveliness and a piece of the Berlin you see on postcards, Hansaviertel is not for you.
