With clean modern lines, hardwood floors and stylish furniture, this seaside escape has a very Scandinavian feel to it – down to the pristine private sauna. With large windows and green views, the bedrooms are bright and uplifting. Boston Cream Pie is a little on the generic side, but the wonderful location makes up for everything it lacks in the design department. Rosenthaler Platz is a bustling part of Berlin, packed with co-working spaces, independent eateries and hipster-esque coffee shops. The home itself is bright and airy, but it also comes with a bed and sofa bed side by side in the living room – so don’t expect a lot of privacy.

While Pistachio Macaron isn’t the most charming home in our collection, it’s located in a very attractive part of bustling Berlin. With Rosenthaler Platz on your doorstep, you’re close to so many art galleries, independent boutiques and eateries. Despite being a studio, the home is bright and airy – and although it’s not going to win any design prizes, it’s a great base for travellers looking to explore a vibrant part of the city.

This resort couldn't be closer to the lake's edge and it's just a short walk to the shore and private beach. Minimal yet warm and full of light, the double-height interior features floor-to-ceiling windows to take in the peaceful views, and you can enjoy your morning coffee on the balcony which overlooks the greenery around the resort. You're bound to sleep soundly each night tucked up on the mezzanine level where large windows look out over the surroundings. There's plenty of space to whip up meals in the kitchen, but if you fancy trying some local fare it's just a quick walk into the town of Waren. Wander along the charming cobbled streets and settle down at a lakeside restaurant for a meal and a cold pint of German beer. You’ll also have access to explore the facilities at the resort - with a fitness centre, sauna, spa and swimming pool to choose from, you'll be spoilt for choice for ways to rest and unwind during your stay.

You’ll be staying in the heart of Germany’s lake district when you stay in this modern apartment just outside of Waren. The apartment has a private balcony from which you can view the surrounding countryside, while just a short walk away you’ll find the picturesque marina. This home is ideally placed for spending days on the lake – you’re less than 100m from the nearest beach, and there are plenty of bike trails around to keep you busy. Biking or hiking is a great way to explore this beautiful region of Germany – Lake Muritz might be the largest lake in the region, but there are 129 other lakes in the area, not to mention forests, and plenty of other flora and fauna. It’s safe to say that The Copper Portrait is rich in history. The building is a former military hospital turned office for the Russian secret service, but today, it houses several living units. Designed with a calm, soothing colour palette in mind, it also offers hotel-like amenities at an extra cost. While it’s small (it’s more of a studio), the location is hard to beat. It’s just five minutes away from Alexanderplatz, with plenty of popular restaurants and coffee shops nearby too.

Toasted Almond is definitely one of a kind. The camel colour palette, beechwood, marble counter-tops and high-quality materials give a sophisticated feel. Flooded with sunlight from the balcony windows, you might not want to leave. The private balcony overlooks an internal courtyard with a playground – although the host asks guests to be considerate of noise for the sake of the neighbours. It might not be the most central home in the city, but the quiet residential area is surrounded by parks, ideal for those who prefer a slower pace of life.

Touch of Warhol is a cosy flat nestled between Kreuzberg and Neukölln in a neighbourhood the locals call Kreuzkölln. It’s up-and-coming, so expect hipster-esque hotspots full of artsy Berliners mixed in with these rough edges. This three-bedroom home is perfect for the artistically inclined, especially if you appreciate pop artists like Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. The building is from the early 1900s and it’s been lovingly renovated with modern amenities, old-school board games and charming details aplenty.

Found right by the Spree, The Greenery is in an excellent location. You’re within walking distance to many of Berlin’s cultural offerings (Museum Island is only twenty minutes away), along with lots of famous night clubs (if that’s your thing). The living room feels incredibly lively – we loved the abundance of tropical green plants and host Paul’s attention to detail. And the kitchen is wonderful too – we can only imagine the kind of delicious meals that you’ll want to cook while staying in this home.

With its teak furniture and Danish design, Wood Stock is one of those effortlessly chic homes. We love the kitchen, it’s our favourite part of the home as the all-black kitchen cabinetry is super eye-catching. The immediate area is lovely – there’s always something to do in Prenzlauer Berg, whether you’re looking to find your new favourite coffee shop, try some exotic foods, or visit some independent boutiques. 

Wood Stock

Sexy with an edge of Hollywood Regency, this home couldn’t be better suited for a cosy couple in need of some glamour and luxury. Starting their journey in a restored elevator from the 1920s, guests will have an idyllic adventure before even stepping into the moody apartment underneath the gabled roof. Besides the plush bed linen, we love the light-projector show by photographer Kalstuht and the free-standing bath – this is an amorous space from top to bottom. 

The Roaring Twenties

Located inside one of the Hermann Henselmann Towers on Strausberger Platz, The Little Drummer has a rich history. As it overlooks Karl-Marx-All – the former GDR boulevard designed for parades and lined with mirrored wedding-cake style architecture on both sides – this home feels exceptionally grand. It’s lacking in entertainment options (there’s no TV), but with Alexanderplatz ten minutes away, we’re sure you’ll find other things to do.

With a large, well-equipped kitchen, and a wonderful patio, there’s no getting around the fact that this home is set up for having a good time. There’s also a sauna, which is the ultimate post-sightseeing treat. Location-wise, it almost doesn’t get any better than this. Rosenthaler Platz is rich in culture, and it’s also one of our favourite neighbourhoods – get ready to explore modern art galleries, one-of-a-kind cafes, quirky bars, and lots and lots of co-working spaces.

It’s easy to see that Photographic Memory is a cherished home. Brimming with plants, personal trinkets, and artworks made by a friend of the host’s grandmother, you can sense the calmness and love as soon as you step through the front door. While it’s not in the heart of Prenzlauer Berg, it's only five minutes away from Mauerpark. And there are also plenty of eateries, cosy coffee shops and design boutiques within walking distance.

There’s plenty to love about this Berlin apartment, the highlight being the location. Within the city’s Schöneberg neighbourhood, the sprawling Tiergarten parklands are a short walk away and u-bahn stops await to whisk you into the heart of the city. Inside the apartment, it feels like an homage to Berlin’s famously trendy side. A full kitchen has you covered for meals at home, which can be enjoyed in the open dining and living room or on the main balcony overlooking the neighbourhood’s striking architecture.

Anna’s furniture collection is to die for. We love the vibrant combination of Marcel Breuer, Eames, and Konstantin Grcic pieces that all pair really well with the many green plants and colourful artwork. As it’s set against a beautiful Altbau, we also can’t get enough of the impressively high ceilings and original stucco detailing. Prenzlauer Berg is lovely, especially if you’re looking to explore a part of Berlin that’s filled with organic eateries, independent design boutiques, and cosy coffee shops with excellent coffee.

Adventurous. Nostalgic. Sophisticated. The Ivory Empress is all of that and more. Set in a building from the 1900s, its history is celebrated by the light colour palette, gorgeous wooden floors and magnificent works of art. It’s easy to see that the host has an eye for design – most things are sourced from flea markets, with each piece of art and furniture telling a story. Located right on the border between Kreuzberg and Neukölln in a neighbourhood the locals call Kreuzkölln, this five-bedroom home is in a place where hipster coffee shops meet multicultural Berlin.

The Ivory Empress

Every room in Stilleben tells a different story. Every corner is curated with meticulous attention to detail, and it quickly becomes clear that Tina is passionate about interior design and creating a sense of space. Her collection of flower paintings is impressive – and so is her love of mid-century design (the 1960s Italian glass tables, Eames chairs, and the stunning Wim Rietveld lamp in the living room are favourites). It’s located in Kreuzberg (in the Bergmannkiez to be exact), so there are plenty of elegant boutiques, restaurants, and coffee shops nearby.

Technically a studio, this home has been set up to make the most use of the little space there is. You’ll find surprises at every corner, like the hidden hob that pops up from under the kitchen counter. The host has also built USB ports into all the plugs, so you can charge your phone, or kindle without having to bring an adapter. The best part though is the Scandi-style bed, which is tucked away behind two asymmetrical walls, creating a minimalist, but cosy, sleeping area.

Form of Function

Crisp Apple isn’t the largest home in our Berlin collection – it’s a studio apartment, so there’s not much space to spread out. The layout makes the most of the space it has though, and the French windows flood the home with natural light. A real highlight is its well-maintained private balcony, looking onto a peaceful courtyard. Although central, the surrounding area is quiet and residential, with Mauer Park right on the doorstep – those wanting to be surrounded by activity might want to look elsewhere.

Right next to Nordbahnhof Park, we find Pixie. It feels a little generic when it comes to furniture (there’s a lot of IKEA), but we love the huge windows that let in a lot of light. This part of Mitte isn’t the most lively, but you’re well-connected to the rest of Berlin via Nordbahnhof Station (it's only a three-minute walk away).

Set in what used to be a former military hospital/office for the Russian secret service, this now modern apartment is swimming in history. The colour scheme is kept in grey tones for a calm, soothing feel, which we love and the arched windows allow plenty of natural light into the open-plan living space. Cleverly designed, although it’s not big (it’s more of a studio actually), it feels spacious with the great use of a dividing wall in the centre of the room. The exposed brickwork and industrial-chic lighting keep things stylish. Plus, the skyscraper views over Mitte are quite something too. But the real highlight of this home is its enviable location. Almost impossible to beat, Alexanderplatz is very close by (about five minutes away), so you won’t have to walk for long to experience some of Berlin’s most popular attractions – speaking of, the intriguing Museum Island is also less than a fifteen-minute stroll from home.

Over the years, Berlin has built a reputation for being one of the coolest, chicest cities in Europe, and that has brought about an influx of unique buildings to stay in. This home is no different! Filled with artistic flair and character, you're guaranteed to feel inspired with creativity when wandering around this open-plan apartment.

Considering its placement in Berlin's Mitte district, which is steeped in history and culture, you'll feel right at home in the neighbourhood. Locations don't come much more central to Berlin than the lively Mitte area, so you'll be glad to know there are endless experiences and sights at your doorstep. A twelve-minute wander will take you to Hackescher Höfe – a must-see maze of Art Nouveau courtyards made up of designer shops, restaurants, cafes and incredible street art – while a twenty-four-minute stroll will bring you to Museum Island, which comprises five museums for the history buffs to enjoy.

Bright and airy, A Week with Marilyn has that charming Altbau vibe. Located on a residential street in Mitte, it overlooks an inner courtyard with leafy views. It doesn’t have oodles of character, but we do like that it’s very central. You’re well-connected transport-wise, and it’s also within walking distance to some of Berlin’s coolest galleries.

Industrial meets rustic, Candid Camera is one of a kind. Located just fifteen minutes from Volkspark Friedrichshain, you’re in a beautiful area packed with bars, restaurants and shops. It’s not difficult to see that Ludger has put a lot of love and effort into designing this space, especially when it comes to all the eye-catching decorations. With a well-equipped kitchen and a cosy terrace, it’s a great place to unwind after a long day of sightseeing.

Florentina is effortlessly minimalist in every way possible. It has a Scandinavian feel, and a high-end kitchen that’s great for cooking up a storm. With a calming neutral colour palette, curated details and the stunning wooden floor, this home encourages you to slow down. Although it’s not located in the liveliest part of Berlin, it’s great for couples looking to explore Charlottenburg and all of its charm.

The Emerald Portrait’s location is its absolute superpower. Located just five minutes away from Alexanderplatz, you’re in the pulsating heart of Berlin with lots to do on your doorstep. The building itself is also rich in history. There’s nothing generic about Lofty Ideals. It has lots of vintage items thrown together with flair and originality. Colours, patterns, textures, plants – it feels alive and inspiring with little touches of Los Angeles, the host’s hometown. A bohemian dream, this one-bedroom loft in Kreuzberg also has some rugged features to it, but they only add more charm to this very, very cool home. 

Lofty Ideals

While this home is small, we promise it’ll make for a comfortable base. With a hotel-like style, the building is from 2016, which means that it feels incredibly modern and streamlined. The location is excellent – it’s within walking distance to many of Berlin’s most popular attractions, like Checkpoint Charlie, and Museum Island. You’ll also find an abundance of restaurants and coffee shops that are worth checking out. 

The Cherry Blossom

If a typical Berlin flat in the heart of trendy Friedrichshain is what you’re after, then Garnet Touch is perfect for you. With a fully equipped kitchen and a small bedroom, we would recommend this home for a single traveller or young couple. It faces the backyard and can therefore be a little dark, but with the nearest train station only 500 metres away and Boxhagener Platz and its weekend food and flea market, we doubt you’ll be spending much time indoors anyway.

Although The Silver Portrait is small (it’s a studio after all), it makes for a comfortable base in Berlin. Located in the pulsating heart of the city, it’s only five minutes away from bustling Alexanderplatz, with some of Berlin’s most famous attractions nearby, too. The building is also rich in history. In true Kreuzberg fashion, the door to Orange Blossom is full of colourful graffiti. Inside, however, it’s a calm space filled with green plants, beautiful antiques and an extensive book collection. We fell in love with the Italian granite kitchen counter as soon as we saw it, and we adore how inviting and communal the kitchen is. Located in Wrangelkiez, you’re right across the street from Görlitzer Park, and you’re also within walking distance to some of Berlin’s hippest spots.
