Amager is the island between Sweden and Zealand, and even though it forms a part of Copenhagen, it has its own separate identity. Amager Øst is especially unique due to its large green spaces and sleepy atmosphere that makes it feel like you’re not in the city. Popular with Copenhageners on the weekend, they flock to Amager Beach and Kastrup Sea Baths on days off to go for a jog, swim or scenic walk, all year around. While it’s a beautiful part of the city, it feels a little like a ghost town in the evening due to its lack of restaurants, bars and any kind of nightlife – most people living here will take the metro into the city centre for nights out.
