It's housed in a residential building, so you'll also have use of the 5-star shared facilities here, including an outdoor pool and a fully-equipped gym – ideal for longer stays. The interiors are kept fairly simple, but the private balcony is a real highlight, and the en-suite bathrooms will help to speed mornings along. Just keep in mind that one person will be sleeping on a sofa bed at full occupancy. Outside, it's a short stroll from the Dubai Marina's restaurants and shopping mall, while JBR Beach is easily reachable for a change of scenery.

Look at the spectacular sea and Dubai skyline vistas from this Palm Jumeirah home's private balcony. You can enjoy more views from the inside, too – we particularly love the outlook from the bedrooms. There are some excellent shared facilities here – check out the pool and the beach cabanas. You can also dine at the beachfront restaurant, entertain the kids in the play area and keep fit in the communal gym. Out and about, there are plenty of eateries and boutiques, but if you want to explore many of the city's attractions, you'll need to hop in a cab, hire a car or use public transport. Alternatively, you can let your host organise a private chauffeur or city tour for you.

While the interiors are a little plain for our liking, the pad is set up nicely for long stays, with a fully equipped kitchen and laptop-friendly workspaces. There is also space for a third guest on the sofa bed in the living area.

We were so excited when we saw this home which sits adjacent to one of Dubai's most iconic attractions, the palm-tree-sculpted archipelago of the Dubai Palm. But what we really love is the pure luxury of access to a private beach on the Emaar Beachfront. You can also head to the Ibn Battuta Mall or The Palm Jumeirah by taxi in under fifteen minutes.

Perched on the outer edge of the Palm Jumeirah, this apartment brings together a luxurious interior and a fabulous collection of amenities, all in a truly superb location.

The home itself feels bright and fresh, thanks to the stark white walls and floors. A colourful collection of artwork and rugs pop off pleasingly against this blank backdrop, while the kitchen is both impressively large and sleek, too. We're also big fans of the fact that, In one of the bedrooms and the living room, there are balconies with space to sit and ponder the peaceful sea views.

This would be more than enough by itself, but guests are also treated to plenty of communal facilities within the building. These range from a palm-lined swimming pool and private beach to a tennis court and fitness centre with a sauna.

And that's before you get around to the wealth of things to see and do nearby, as well. The boutiques and designer shops on the Golden Mile are only ten minutes' drive, as are the Lost Chambers Aquarium and the Palm Fountain.

The Palm Jumeirah is an area unlike any other. Narrow, long stretches of land jut out like leaves into the sea, creating the image of a palm tree from above. It sounds impractical, but Dubai has made it work perfectly.

Though the villa maintains a sense of privacy at all times, you're well-connected to Dubai's must-see areas. The Dubai Marina is just ten minutes by car, whilst you can stroll to Club Vista Mare – a collection of high-end restaurants on the pier.
