Though, our favourite spot is on the rooftop terrace, with beautiful views out to the sea. Inside, it's bright and open, but the interiors are fairly uninspired. The bedrooms are on the smaller side too, so with recommend packing light. Location-wise, the villa is just a five-minute walk from the nearest sandy beach and is ideal for exploring the beautiful resort of Protaras. 

The Garden in Blue 

This newly built, pristine white villa sits just 300 metres from the sea. Stroll down to the sandy beach to build sandcastles and paddle in the clear shallows – the rocky coastline here is studded with secluded bays. In the other direction, the centre of Paralimni town has all the restaurants, bakeries, supermarkets and bars you could want, and is a leisurely walk or short drive away.

The villa is a vision of modernity, blazing white against a near-constant blue sky. Around the back of the villa, you’ll find an inviting turquoise swimming pool, just begging you to plunge in. Loungers are shaded by a parasol and the dining table sits beneath the balcony, so you don’t have to dine in direct sunlight. What we love most is the wall of glass that fronts the living room, sliding back to blend the indoors with the outdoors. The decor inside is natural and calming, encouraging you to unwind. Chefs will enjoy plenty of prep space in the open-plan kitchen, thanks to a sleek breakfast bar and kitchen island. Upstairs, each bedroom has double glass doors, leading to their own balconies.

Enjoy doing sweet nothing from this dreamy villa while on a sunny escape in the resort town of Protaras. That's if you count – sunbathing on the terrace loungers, tucking into delicious alfresco breakfasts and floating in the private swimming pool – as doing nothing, of course. With plenty of sun-drenched outdoor space to call your own here, it's more than likely, you'll wish to spend much of your time outside soaking up the Cypriot sun. However, it's safe to say you'll find the contemporary living space indoors just as enticing. Floor-to-ceiling bi-fold doors invite in a free flow of natural daylight that bounces through the space with good vibes and a summer spirit. Meanwhile, the minimal designs in a white and grey colour scheme encourage guests to relax in a fuss-free environment far away from the stresses of daily life. 

Upstairs, you'll find scenic views overlooking the landscaped garden and surrounding fauna and flora. From here, you'll be just a five-minute walk from the beach, an array of lively bars, delicious eateries and close-by shops. Complete with plush furniture, a monochrome colour scheme, and expansive rooms which flow into eachother, the indoor space is pristine and sleek. Meanwhile, the villa boasts breathtaking views down to the ocean thanks to its elevated position. Step out onto the terrace first thing and enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool, pausing for a moment to take in the panoramic vistas. The main bedroom upstairs has a walk-in wardrobe, as well as an en-suite bathroom complete with a spa bath, perfect for relaxing in after a day of exploring. Large glass doors frame the view in each bedroom, and lead out onto a little balcony. Each bedroom is fitted with a TV for cosy movie nights tucked up in bed. 

The villa is in a peaceful location, a ten-minute walk down to the centre of Protaras, where you’ll find local shops, supermarkets and plenty of excellent bars and restaurants. The turquoise waters of Yianna Marie beach are 1.9 kilometres away, where you can spend the day sunbathing and splashing in the water, enjoying a cocktail at the beach bar in between. Pick up some local produce in town before coming home in time for a sunset barbecue, where you can watch the sea turn golden from your terrace. 

Stone & Cerulean

In the town of Paralimni, this villa puts you just 300 metres from the nearest sandy beach. The coastline here is studded with sandy bays between the cliffs, where crystal shallows laps at the shore. Should you need to stock up on supplies or fancy a night out, the restaurants, supermarkets and bars of Paralimni are a leisurely walk or a short drive away. 

It would be easy to while away your days at the villa itself, plunging into the turquoise pool to cool off and stretching out on a sun lounger to dry off. And repeat. Nicosia, an hour away, caters to shopaholics and lovers of souvlaki, among other scrumptious delights. Louma Beach and Lombardi Beach are ideal for long coastal hikes. With so much to do, you'll be happy to escape to your starry roof-deck for a bottle of wine before calling it a day.

While we do love the idea of idling away by the pool and spending sunsets firing up the barbecue grill, it helps to remind yourself that you're a stone's throw from many vetted spots in Cyprus. Sunbathe at the Yianna Marie Beach or have a go at water sports at the gorgeous Fig Tree beach – both at walking distance. Enjoy the gorgeous landscapes as you hike or cycle around the Troodos Mountains. Summers are perfect for exploring vineyards in medieval villages. Likewise, if you love winter-sports, you will regret not coming back here.
