This home in the Andalusian countryside is very much away from it all. There’s nothing but olive groves, rugged hills and the odd farmstead for miles. The closest town is around a fifteen-minute drive away – El Saucejo – where you’ve got supermarkets for supplies and a handful of local restaurants and bars. Plus, the pretty town of Ronda with its famous gorge and the historic city of Seville are both around an hour’s drive away, ideal for a day trip or two.

Life here is all about embracing the slow pace – lying up on a lounger by the swimming pool as orange trees provide natural shade. Finding a secluded spot on the stone patios and settling in with a good book. Or, perhaps gathering for rustic lunches in the shade of the outdoor dining area, surrounded by old-world farming tools – a nod to the villa’s history.

Inside, it’s got the look of an old farmhouse with a brick fireplace at the heart of the living room, wooden beams on display and darkwood furniture that feels as though it’s been in the family for generations. We love the gnarled wood and iron motif that sings of agriculture in the 19th century. The farmhouse-style kitchen is a colourful spot thanks to green-washed cupboards and peach tiles, and the dining room is a great spot for the group to gather at the end of the day. The traditional feel continues in bedrooms where windows look out over the countryside and iron-framed beds await for sound sleep in the peace and quiet.

Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice

Located 2 kilometres from Cordoba’s historic centre, this fuss-free apartment offers practicality and comfort in equal measure. Two private terraces equipped with outdoor seating are a highlight here, as is the home’s access to the building’s communal swimming pool (open seasonally). When you’re ready to explore, you’ll find a bus stop nearby that will whisk you into the city in no time. Alternatively, take advantage of the free garage parking here to embark on further explorations of the Andalusian region.

Mambo Melody

Sitting in the shadow of the Palacio de la Merced and a short walk from the city's other landmarks, this apartment puts Córdoba's most iconic historic centre right outside your door. Back inside, pale sofas face out to a private terrace – a natural spot for morning coffee as the city stirs below. The light-filled living space and serene main bedroom give the whole apartment a calm, unhurried feel that makes it easy to come home to after a long day of exploring – and with so much of the city within reach, we're sure you'll be doing plenty of that.

Merced & Moonlight

Slap in the centre of Córdoba, this apartment puts the Mosque-Cathedral, the Roman Bridge, and the Alcázar all within a short walk from your front door. Back inside, southern light pours through large windows into a warmly styled living space – velvet sofa, rustic dining table, and a balcony for alfresco moments when the mood takes you. Plaza de la Corredera and the Jardines de la Victoria are equally close, making this a genuinely well-placed base for exploring one of Andalucía's most captivating cities. Lift access makes arriving and departing entirely effortless.

Córdoba in Bloom

Planted in the heart of Córdoba, this apartment puts the Mosque–Cathedral, Roman Bridge, and the Alcázar all within easy walking distance. The gold-accented living and dining area has a warmth that makes it feel like more than just a base for sightseeing – settle into the sofa after a day of exploring and feel right at home. The three bedrooms face a quiet interior courtyard, so you can sleep soundly even in the centre of one of Andalusia's most visited cities. Whether you’re visiting for a few days or settling in for a longer stay, this apartment makes an ideal base.

Córdoba Calm

This charming Alcalá la Real home places central Andalusia at your fingertips. The walled pool area becomes a personal oasis here, complete with a shaded alfresco dining area that's a fine spot for lunch. The kitchen has everyone you need too, which is a bonus when the nearest restaurant is several miles away. We found the interior a little dated, and the living room area isn't large enough to accommodate everyone, but we suspect you'll be spending more time outside than in here anyway. With just one shower for four bedrooms, guests may have to coordinate, but the additional outdoor WC provides some flexibility.

A Golden Glimpse

Sat atop a hill overlooking the undulating Andalusian landscape, this homespun villa is a place to relax and recharge. Inside, it’s cosy and rustic with timber beams, terracotta tiled floors and a collection of antique furnishings. We particularly loved the farmhouse-style kitchen with its quaint green gingham curtains. After a peaceful snooze in the quiet bedrooms, sit down to a light breakfast on the leafy patio. When you’ve finished the last of your coffee, plunge into the pool or lie back on a lounge and soak up the unobstructed vistas.

If you’d like to expend a little energy, enjoy a stroll through the surrounding countryside. Or why not spend the day in Granada? We recommend visiting the stunning Alhambra complex and watching the sunset from the San Nicolás viewpoint. In the early evening, seek out a traditional tablao for a captivating flamenco performance.

Heat Rising

That glazed terrace overlooking Paseo de la Victoria is the kind of spot you'll find hard to leave – cushioned seating, open skies, and one of Córdoba's most iconic avenues stretching out below. Back inside, the light-filled living and dining room connects directly to the terrace, making alfresco evenings feel effortless. When you're ready to explore, the Jewish Quarter, Puerta de Almodóvar, and Plaza de las Tendillas are all a ten-minute walk away – and after a day on foot, the mosaic bathroom's sunken bathtub is a very welcome sight.

Andalusian Nights

Situated in the residential Arruzafa area of Cordoba, just a short drive from its historic centre, this exclusive studio apartment boasts a huge private terrace and garden, as well as access to a communal pool. A perfect base for a couple or a solo traveller, you’ll enjoy comfort and tranquillity here – while the place is compact, there’s plenty of space for relaxing and enjoying some alfresco times. Although situated on the ground floor, note that there are some steps in the outdoor areas.

Córdoba Oasis

This modern apartment is in a quiet residential area of Cordoba, just 2 kilometres from the city centre. A private terrace furnished with chairs and a table looks out over the shared swimming pool in the garden below. Guests have access to the pool and loungers between April and November. Inside the apartment, the living room is sunny thanks to glass sliding doors to the terrace and the small, sleek kitchen area has all the essentials for self-catering. From the single bedroom, you’ve got the bonus of a second terrace for morning coffee outside.

Gilded with Green

A private Andalusian courtyard with a swimming pool framed by stone arches sits at the heart of this Córdoba apartment – the kind of place where mid-afternoon heat makes a dip feel less like a luxury and more like a necessity. Original hydraulic tile floors and hand-painted tilework give each room a sense of history that no amount of new-build charm can replicate, while a terrace above offers a quieter spot for evening drinks. Step outside and the Mezquita-Catedral and the Roman Bridge are both within easy walking distance.

Siesta Society

Nestled in the heart of ancient Andalusia, this secluded sanctuary is a modern touch of luxury. Rural and tranquil, the villa is surrounded by raw, natural beauty from every angle – find a sprawling vineyard behind the house and the jagged rocks of the Sierras in the foreground. It's a diverse landscape of colour, unique terrain and sunshine.

Paying homage to its ancient location, the villa blends traditional design with contemporary quality. Sustainable and ecological materials add an authentic touch to modern technology.

The huge interior is shaped by open spaces and rustic furniture, sewn together by the cool tiles and whitewashes walls. Wander out to the colourful garden and the vibe transcends into an exotic oasis – palm trees and tropical plant life guard a cute pool and sun beds. A cosy seating area is the idyllic spot to bask in the serenity of your surroundings.

Such is the abundance of natural beauty nearby, you probably want to explore the region. Your host can arrange a variety of tours and excursions, allowing you to see as much or as little as Andalusia as you like.
