When you want to explore, you're steps away from the town's independent cafes, restaurants, bars, galleries, and more. Take morning walks around the Victorian boating lake with a coffee in hand, before enjoying a lunch of fish and chips along the sandy beach. Then, take a stroll along the promenade, popping into a pub for a nice afternoon pint.

And when tummies start to rumble, hop on the cliff lift (the oldest of its kind in the UK, no less) just eight minutes from your door. You'll be down on the promenade backed by its colourful beach huts in no time for fish and chips and lashings of ice creams. 

Back at home, this place is a masterstroke in the art of modern living, with zesty pops of colour creating a welcoming retreat. But it's those views of the distant horizon taking all the glory here. In winter months, sink into the sumptuous, velvet sofas positioned just so to take in the seascapes with a cuppa. And when the sun shines, pad out onto the sea-facing terrace with a glass of something chilled – the outdoor lighting will help keep the night flowing.

We love the moody paint and contemporary decor – it’s the ideal size for two and comes with a handy parking spot if your adventures take you further afield. We think it's the perfect spot for a pair keen to explore North Yorkshire.

Saltburn Sweet

Style and heritage meet in this beautiful home in Richmond. Sitting within the grounds of The Old Brewery, it’s a wonderful place to experience the atmospheric charm of the location, whilst also enjoying life’s little luxuries. 

Stepping inside, you’ll find this private sanctuary opens up to three immaculate bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms. And with its elegant styling and natural hues, there’s a calming presence to this floor that makes you want to settle in and stay. Upstairs, you’ll find the refreshing tone extends into the open–plan living and dining space – this is the perfect spot for socialising, relaxing and simply enjoying quality time together. And whether you’re here with a plan or for a spontaneous countryside adventure, there’s everything you could need to feel at home.

Outside, the charming streets of Richmond are on your doorstep. It’s just a seven–minute stroll to the striking castle and from here you’ll find a lovely selection of shops, cafés and pubs in the cobbled marketplace. Walkers and cyclists will also love the easy access to the Yorkshire Dales – Richmond serves as a gateway to some of the most beautiful walks in the region. 

The Climbing Daisy 

Right on the outskirts of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and on the banks of the River Swale, this beautiful home certainly ticks the box for a picturesque setting. From near the house, you’re able to follow walking trails along the river, allowing you to unwind and rejuvenate in the fresh country air. But the home itself also offers plenty of opportunity for peace and quiet. 

Between striking colour choices, plush furniture, captivating art, and an outdoor area that offers sunshine and privacy in equal measure, you can find the space to sit quietly with a cup of coffee, throw your phone aside and enjoy a board game or puzzle, dine together at the beautifully made dining table, and lie in late. Treat yourself to a bubble bath and glass of wine, read in the kitchen nook, get competitive in the games room, and sit out after dark to admire the brightening night sky.   

Supply runs can be made in the little market town, where cobbled streets will lead you past cafes and artisans, with Richmond Castle always looming in the background. Pick up specialty cheeses, crackers and wine to take back for an alfresco cheese board, but not before visiting Richmond Castle and stopping off at the Georgian Sundials on the way back. 

As a Grade II listed building, there is undoubtedly plenty of history between the walls of this restored home, but staying here also gives you the opportunity to make your own.


Olde Stone

Nestled in Sutton-on-the-Forest, just 8 miles north of York, this charming 18th-century cottage welcomes you in with open arms. Perfect for families, the generous country kitchen will quickly become the place where everyone gathers, spilling out into the walled garden for alfresco dining in summer months. The owners live next door and share the gravelled parking area, but you won't hear a peep from them unless you need their help. For those keen to explore the great outdoors, especially if your four-legged friends have joined you for your stay, cross the road and you can walk the ancient woodland of the Sutton Park estate. Further afield, the North York Moors are just a short drive away. 

The Woodlark

If you’d like a peaceful stay in the Yorkshire countryside, while still being within easy reach of the fun-filled Yorkshire coast, this home offers the perfect sanctuary. Located in the little village of Brotton, just a short drive from Saltburn-by-the-Sea, this characterful cottage has loads of traditional features that make it feel homely and quaint, such as the exposed beam ceilings, ornate wooden furniture and chintzy soft furnishings. It also sits in a private garden where you can listen to birdsong on crisp dewy mornings, and find a bit of peace and quiet amongst the trees.

Start each day with a good book in one of the two sunrooms, and let the light flood in through the glass walls. Head into the large, country-style kitchen, and cook up a full English breakfast. Tuck in alfresco on your patio dining set, while you discuss the day’s itinerary. Head to Saltburn Beach for a paddle in the waves, or head into Brotton for a pint in a classic village pub. When you return, light up the wood burner fireplace and cuddle up on the sofa with a glass of wine, before falling into your big cosy bed, ready to do it all again the next day.

Sweet Beams

This home is right in the heart of Whitley Bay – a charming seaside resort brimming with cafes, restaurants, and shops. Not to mention the beach is only 200 metres from the door. Spend your days exploring the town on foot, strolling along the sand, and brushing shoulders with the locals over a pint in the pub. By night, bed down in this modern conversion, which still retains much of its original charm, with its high ceilings and decorative fireplace. And although the kitchen and bathroom are on the compact side, this place has everything you could need for a fuss-free stay in a stunning part of England.

Ocean Breeze Embrace

This home, located within the North York Moors National Park, is as picture-perfect as they come. Standing against the backdrop of rolling hills, with tons of outdoor space for the little ones to let loose, plus a terrace for dining alfresco, there's a lot to like about it. Inside is equally as charming, featuring traditional stonework, rustic fireplaces, and exposed beams. It's set across two floors, and the various bedroom setups – including a kids' room with a bunk bed, games and a reading nook – cement this as a prime family destination. For days out, you’re a fifteen-minute drive from the coast, and popular Saltburn-by-the-Sea can be reached in less than half an hour.

Norton Hideaway

This charming Tudor castle, built in 1560, has been fully restored to create the perfect romantic retreat for two. Set in the picturesque Teesdale landscape, this historic property is located near the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District National Park, as well as the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Guests can admire the ornate roof beams carved from oak trees felled over 400 years ago in the dining hall, and relax in the cosy living room with a wood-burning stove set within a Tudor fireplace. The bedroom features a double bed on an oak floor adorned with Persian rugs and offers stunning views of the walled garden and the high moors beyond.
