Deep in the Somerset countryside, this cottage feels like a magical hideaway. Located in the tiny hamlet of Atherstone, this Grade II listed farmhouse stands out with its thatched roof, beautiful stonework, and trailing foliage on its exterior walls. Although ancient, it has been beautifully and elegantly refurbished in a relaxed, country style – and what could be more welcoming than a wood-burning stove? The large fireplace, exposed masonry, flagstone floors, and timber beams are some of our favourite features, but your host goes the extra mile to make it even more special. With fluffy bathrobes and a seriously high thread count on the bedding, you can’t help but notice luxury all around. You can even have a private chef come over and cook your dinner. If you don’t fancy a Sunday roast, light up the barbecue in the lush back garden on a sunny day. The quiet country lanes lead two miles to the nearby town of Ilminster where you can stock up on fresh, local produce and immerse yourself in rural culture. And as part of rural culture, you’ll have to take a trip to the pub to sample some fine English ales.

This home is beyond characterful, inside and out. Dating back to 1880, the cottage is not only filled with historic charm but it packs a serious punch with its style and design. Once you've taken in the glorious facade, settle into a vibrant, warm, and artfully eclectic lounge. The kitchen has a contemporary farmhouse feel, and the rustic dining table is a stylish space to serve all your meals. The bedrooms are rich and luxe, and practically come with their own art galleries - filled with pictures and paintings. You'll be based on the outskirts of the Mendip Hills, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Pack your walking boots and a few good books for stunning hikes and picnics in the countryside. This striking home is a truly unique space in Somerset. Whether you're relaxing in the home or exploring the grounds, the view will be a knockout.

This modern barn conversion is an ideal base for a Dorset family getaway – four-legged friends included. Set on a working farm in Sherborne, there’s so much to love about this home, from the hot tub in the enclosed garden to the wood burner, country kitchen and games room. So, while you can easily occupy your days at home, the local area is worth exploring too. A trip into Sherborne promises fun for all the family with shops, eateries, the Abbey and castles to explore – or for jaunts further afield, hop in the car for a short drive to the Dorset Heritage Coast. 

The Orchard Barn

With sweeping countryside views and a hot tub perfectly positioned for starlit soaks, this peaceful retreat is all about slowing down. Ideal for two, and surrounded by fields and footpaths, this shepherd's hut sits in the heart of a working dairy farm in the Wye Valley, just fifteen minutes from Chepstow. Inside, soft tones and natural textures create a calming space to unwind, whether you’re curled up by the wood-burning fire, cooking in the compact kitchen or stretched out on the king-size bed. Outside, the private deck is perfect for alfresco breakfasts and quiet evenings with the cows grazing nearby. Don’t leave without trying the farm’s creamy gelato and milkshakes.

Farm Fresh Living

Take your stay in Poole Quay up a notch at this penthouse with sweeping harbour views. While there’s a light-filled snug upstairs, the real highlight is the main living and dining area downstairs, opening onto a private sun deck that makes the most of the coastal vistas. If we were being fussy, some of the artwork may not be to everyone’s taste. But it’s a small detail in an otherwise outstanding home. Location-wise, Poole Quays’ harbour and high street are just moments from your door, and private parking is ready for trips along the Dorset Coast or into the New Forest.

Harbour View Place

Buzzy Bruton life is on your doorstep at this Grade II listed Georgian townhouse, set right along the well-heeled high street. Mingle with the movers, shakers, and millionaires in its gastropubs, independent shops, and art galleries. Or don your walking boots for bracing country walks – the house has direct access to a quiet lane leading onto the rolling countryside surrounding Bruton.

Back home, there’s room for all ten of you to pile into this magnificent three-storey home. Filled to the rafters with Georgian architectural details, original flagstone floors and exposed brickwork archways strike a note of authenticity, while a contemporary extension housing the open concept living space is firmly in the 21st century. And we love how pared back and gloriously clutter-free everywhere feels, allowing the contemporary artwork and vintage statement furniture to do all the talking.

On sunny mornings, spill out into the garden room and slide back the French doors onto the suntrap patio – there’s an outdoor dining area complete with a built-in barbecue that’s prime for lazy breakfasts or alfresco evening meals. Winter evenings are all about getting around that Fritz Hansen dining room table with original Eames chairs for slap-up dinners and catch-ups. And you can always keep the night flowing with a game of table tennis in the games room, squirreled away in the ancient stone garage. Or get your game face on for a late-night session around that Edwardian poker table.


A Royal Flush

Within the sprawling grounds of this Georgian manor home, the only neighbours you’re likely to come across are a couple of llamas, ponies and a waddle of ducks. Classic walled gardens, orchards, vast lawns and pastures make up the ten acres of grounds. Exploring, you’ll find a private swimming pool surrounded by rattan furniture for a drink or two and an outdoor bar and cooking area with a wood-fired pizza oven. There’s also a barn that can be dappled with fairy lights for a special celebration and a former coach house that’s been turned into a dedicated cinema and games room. 

Accommodation is spread across the main house, which dates back to the 18th century, and a separate cottage with its own farmhouse-style kitchen and cosy living room. In the main house, the ground floor is everything you expect from an updated Georgian manor – a library-like sitting room, a grand lounge with gilded mirrors and chandeliers, oil paintings adorning the hallway walls, and a big, bright dining and sitting room looking out over the gardens. The kitchen is a vision of farmhouse charm, with a purring Aga at its centre. 

But, we have to say, the real surprise is the subterranean ‘club’ area. Descend the stairs to find a private, fully-stocked bar and VIP-style velvet booths. It’s the perfect place to host a special event without disturbing the neighbours (or lack thereof).

Speakeasy Manor

This delightful home is a haven of sustainable luxury. It’s in the heart of Somerset, close to woodland and countryside yet within easy reach of historic cities including Bath and Wells. This home is part of a 450-acre gated estate and boasts a balcony and a hot tub. You can look forward to high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, and an open-plan living, dining, and kitchen space designed with socialising in mind. The kitchen has top-of-the-range appliances and a chic island, so whipping up family meals is a breeze. 

The Woodland Haven

Surrounded by rolling Somerset countryside, this charming glamping pod is only a few minutes away from the historic city of Wells. Ideal for a couple or solo traveller, plus a dog, you're guaranteed to have a fabulous time together at this truly tranquil spot. 

The home is situated on a working farm, but it has its very own enclosed garden to enjoy in peace. The interior is modern yet cosy, with a kitchen, living space and bed in the open-plan space. Enjoy your coffee each morning outside on the deck, and gather around the fire pit after dark to toast marshmallows and share stories. Plus, you even have your very own wood-fired hot tub – sink in for a long, luxurious soak at the end of a fantastic day. 

Wells has plenty of charm and history to explore, despite holding the title of the smallest city in England. Take a seven-minute walk to the Gothic cathedral and Bishop's Palace, to admire the unique architecture and learn about the area's history. And, fans of the outdoors will be happy that the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is just a fifteen-minute drive away – don your hiking boots or hop on your bike to explore these epic landscapes.

Located in a wonderfully secluded part of Wiltshire and surrounded by sprawling fields and farm animals, this home is a rural sanctuary of calm. French doors merge the comfortable living room with the natural light and country air of the outdoors – it's the perfect spot for relaxing with a good book, playing games or rustling up a home-cooked meal while socialising with friends and family. Grab a glass of your favourite and sit out on the garden patio, which overlooks picturesque views of the verdant valley. In the mood for exploring? One of the things we really love is that it's truly an address for all seasons, with a wealth of space in the garden when the sun comes out and lots of cosy spots inside if it ever gets chilly. And that's not forgetting the huge number of attractions nearby either, everything from beaches to nature reserves.

Surrounded by sixty acres of farmland and three lakes, this home in Bratton Seymour, Somerset, wouldn’t be out of place in an Enid Blyton novel. Picture muddied boots piled by the door after a day of rambling, wet bathing suits hanging up to dry after a day of swimming, children drinking lemonade while making daisy chains on the grass and adults relaxing on the patio, a sundowner in hand.
