While a smart, shaker-style kitchen, and upstairs, a deep, freestanding bath and quality king-sized bed, add a dash of luxury. 

Open the patio doors wide in warmer climes to enjoy the private, landscaped gardens beyond. The raised deck is the perfect spot to catch the last of the summer's rays with a glass of something chilled. As autumn draws in, take things inside to gather in the dining room for an atmospheric dinner party before curling up beside the crackling fire with a movie. Changing Seasons

Nestled in the quiet village of Foolow in Derbyshire, you'll feel at one with nature from being surrounded by miles of green fields. Whether you want to go out and wander around them, play games with the family, or just stay at home admiring the scenery from afar, you're sure to enjoy the surroundings either way. The garden of this home is particularly special. The outside seating area is tailor-made for enjoying an evening tipple. Why not sample the local Lindway Brook champagne and toast to making wonderful memories? When the light starts to fade, head inside and put your feet up in the lounge while the wood burner glows away.

Being situated in the Peak District, this cottage is in an ideal location to make the most of one of the UK's most beautiful regions. Get the boots on and hike one of the many trails here, or jump on two wheels and cycle to a nearby destination. We recommend the seventy-minute cycle to Buxton – a lovely town dating back to the Roman times that's known for its natural thermal springs. Soak your tired muscles before heading back to the cottage for the evening.

Green Fields

On a sprawling estate in the heart of Sherwood Forest, this manor is perfect for big groups looking for country strolls and myriad entertainment options. Apart from a private hot tub, tennis courts and a state-of-the-art barbecue station, there are woodland walks and lawn games to fill your days here. Come evening, retire to one of many lavish lounges inside, or gather in the banquet-sized dining table. Kids and big kids will enjoy the games room with its pool table and retro arcade games and if you’re hosting a special celebration, there’s a function room that can seat up to 50 people in grand surrounds. This is one of those spots where memories are made.

The Country Slicker

Surrounded by the wild natural beauty of the Peak District National Park, this idyllic cottage is the perfect getaway to relax and explore this majestic part of the English countryside. Located just outside the village of Birchover (a twenty-minute drive from Matlock), you’ll have all the peace and quiet you need to truly rest and unwind. Dating back to the 1700s, the cottage was originally built as a two-storey barn for the main house which your host Rachael’s parents bought as a ruin in the 1960s. Recently restored, you can tell how much love and care has been put into this stunning space that blends beautiful modern comforts with characterful original details to create an unforgettable home. From the underfloor heating to the wood-burning stove, romantic roll-top tub and sweeping views of the Peak District fields and valleys, there’s a storybook warmth and cosiness here that instantly makes you feel welcome. With two outdoor terraces, you can enjoy your breakfast alfresco while the horses roam around you, or fire up the barbecue for a dinner under the stars. Factor in the DVDs, books and board games on hand and there’s plenty to keep you entertained on rainy days – but with so much nature to explore, we recommend grabbing your wellies and venturing out into the great outdoors. Walk around your home to discover the secret walking trails through the woods and ask your host to show you the megalithic Rocking Stone nearby. Visit Robin Hood’s Stride (eleven minutes by car or an hour’s walk), take a dip in the swimming hole at Youlgreave (an eight-minute drive) and spend an afternoon at stately Chatsworth House, fifteen minutes away by car. 


The Rocking Stone

This semi-detached cottage is nestled in the beautiful grounds of the Chatsworth Estate. Accessed by a single-track road (not suitable for low cars), you’ll be welcomed by cosy rooms and a wonderful sense of seclusion. There is also a wood-burning stove, a private rear garden and flexible sleeping arrangements – the zip-and-link bed can be arranged as a double or two single beds on request. Guests can enjoy multi-entrance tickets to the House and Gardens, as well as access to the estate gym, tennis court and swimming pool for an additional fee. 

Beyond the Garden

Long walks through the countryside, heart-warming gatherings around the table and cosy evenings by the log-burning fire – this barn nestled in the Derbyshire countryside has everything you could need for a restorative rural retreat.   

Inside, you’ll find an abundance of space to relax and share quality time together. From the comfy bedrooms and snug living room to the fully equipped kitchen, the owners have designed this space to bring ease and comfort to your stay. So whether you’re here for a family celebration or to simply embrace the fresh country air, you’ll find it easy to settle in and make this space your own. 

Enjoy slow mornings by the fire with a coffee, gather for family fun in the games room, treat yourself to a long soak in the hot tub (available on request), and embrace the magic of the great outdoors with barbecue meals – while children enjoy the fun of the playground. However you spend your time here, every moment promises to be enriched by the charm and character of this setting.  

From here, days can be spent admiring the views, hiking through the Peak District National Park, exploring nearby Chatsworth House and mingling with locals in a cosy country pub. 

Willow Blossom

A cosy getaway for two, this charming cottage is packed with character and has idyllic views of the Peak District to match. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking – imagine lush green fields, grazing cattle and tree-dotted hills, all spread out before you – and the best place to admire the rolling countryside is the garden. Sharing a bottle of wine as the sun goes down will become your evening ritual – with views like that, it'll be hard to tear yourself away. There's also an excellent outlook from the bedroom, which you'll wake up to daily.

Make yourself comfortable on the squishy sofa following a long day wandering the Peaks and snuggle up for a movie night – you can sign in to your Netflix, Prime and Disney+ accounts, so there are plenty of films to choose from. When you grow peckish, the kitchen is well-stocked and well-suited to rustling up delicious meals, but if you don't fancy cooking, Foolow's village pub is only a twelve-minute stroll away and serves excellent food and refreshing local ales.

And speaking of exploring, there's a network of public footpaths on your doorstep – simply lace up your walking shoes, head out the front door and the Peak District is yours to ramble and roam. Also close by is Bakewell, home to an array of shops, restaurants and a weekly Monday market – it’s just fifteen minutes by car.

Summer Dusk, Autumn Dawn

Anyone looking to disconnect and recharge in a beautiful location will love this cosy apartment. Set within the grounds of a Grade II listed Georgian house, you’ll be welcomed by peaceful gardens and a wonderful sense of character. It’s worth noting there are steep stairs leading up to the main floor and the garden is shared with the owners, but there are plenty of quiet spots to discover and you will have access to a private hot tub (with views overlooking the orchard). Breakfast is included, children’s amenities can be provided and you'll find a lot to explore in the surroundings – Market Drayton is just over a mile away. 

The Garden of Tranquility 

Built in 1809 and renovated in 2020, grade II-listed King Of The Vale brings together old and new for a wonderful experience in the Peak District. The striking Georgian cottage features beamed ceilings, traditional shutters, sash windows, wood-burning stoves and an impressive garden, all while providing guests with twenty-first-century comforts and design. Prepare wonderful meals in the fully equipped kitchen, then enjoy your creations al fresco or in the modern dining room. With four bedrooms, up to eight guests are welcome to enjoy the home's cosy interiors and excellent position in the charming village of Rowsley. From here, it's easy to visit all corners of the famous Peak District.

King Of The Vale

Nestled deep in the English countryside with surrounding shared and private gardens, this is the place to escape to when you seek real peace and tranquility. The perfect home for large gatherings with friends or family, you'll love sitting together in the sublime Tudor living spaces. If you can bear to leave your palace and its grounds, be sure to head to the nearby market towns of Much Wenlock and Bridgnorth - full of history and local food and drink. You'll also be next to an official Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Tudor Crest

This home was once a hayloft in a former life — the original circular window on the front is so shaped for pitching hay through — but today it's a perfectly cosy space for a rural getaway. Despite this functional heritage, you can safely banish any thoughts of cramped living quarters. Illuminated by a series of skylights, guests get access to a recently refitted kitchen that is plenty big enough for cooking up hearty dinners, as well as a lounge with comfy furnishings for sprawling out upon after long country walks. There is no shortage of outdoor pursuits to undertake in North Shropshire and just across the Welsh border, including wandering along the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, only twenty-four minutes away in the car. The Boat House gastropub on the outskirts of Ellesmere is only six minutes' walk away, too.
