There are also vistas from inside, and there's access to the balcony from one of the bedrooms – name a better way to wake up each morning. The kitchen is galley style, relatively compact and somewhat dated, but it has everything you need. And, of course, you'll be located in the heart of Athens in one of the most upmarket districts of the capital and just steps away from restaurants. You'll also find nearby boutiques, museums and a metro station easily accessible on foot.

Pearl of the Sky

You'll find this charming boutique villa in the lively Koukaki neighbourhood of Athens. Cafes and bars are all nearby, but it's the proximity to sights like the Acropolis that really makes it special. See all the best bits and return home to a minimalist and stylish apartment. Even though three guests will be sleeping in the living spaces, they’re strategically placed to give everyone space and privacy. If you need help planning your itinerary, your host will be more than happy to assist.

The Shadow of Athena

This apartment in the centre of Athens feels like a rare gem. It’s not often we find a one-bedroom apartment, this central, with a big terrace and its own Jacuzzi. The apartment itself is a vibrant medley of modern artworks and slate-grey furnishings. In monochrome style, the kitchen has everything you need for self-catering. It’s the outside space that really takes the biscuit here – the terrace is shaded by the heat by pristine white awnings and there’s plenty of room on the rattan armchairs for drinks outside. Soak in the bubbling Jacuzzi at the end of a day exploring the ancient sites of Athens. 

Speaking of which, the old-world charm of the Plaka neighbourhood is just a fifteen-minute walk away where narrow cobbled alleyways are home to funky bars and rustic restaurants. The Acropolis is a further five minutes away, the crowning glory of Athens’ ancient history. 

The Ancient Olympian

As soon as we saw this home, we could tell that the host is an architect – it's a design lover's dream. Spread across a two-bedroom penthouse and a ground-floor studio, there's plenty of space here to get comfortable. A couple of balconies boast cityscape outlooks on one side and sunset views on the other, while the roof terrace is perfect for cocktails. We love the vistas that stretch from the Acropolis to the hills of Athens. Inside, expect double-height ceilings, concrete finishes, floor-to-ceiling windows, and lots of tropical plants and orchids. Those wanting an extra slice of privacy will enjoy the studio's third bedroom and a small kitchenette.

Located in Gazi, a pedestrian cobblestone path starts just around the corner from this home and leads all the way to the old neighbourhood of Plaka, which sits below the Acropolis. Or head to the nearby Gazi Technopolis, a cultural centre within a former gasworks, which hosts concerts and exhibitions.

When it comes to exploring, you’ve got plenty to see and do within easy walking distance, including Nymphs Hill (five minutes), the Temple of Hephaestus (six minutes), Areopagus Hill (eight minutes), and Monastiraki Square (thirteen minutes) among many others. 


Athena's Acropolis

This bright and sunny apartment is in the perfect location for city breaks to Athens. You can stroll to the Acropolis in five minutes, and the incredible Temple of Zeus is six minutes away on foot. From this apartment, the city is walkable, but if you want to give your feet a break you need only walk seven minutes to the Sygrou Fix metro station – from there, the city is yours. 

After spending a day touring around the fascinating archaeological sites and the museums, returning to this apartment feels like a salve. It’s crisp, clean and calm. Despite its central location, it’s not directly above a hectic street so the balcony is a little haven. Sip cold beers while soaking up the last of the day’s sunshine before you head out for dinner.
