As soon as we saw this home, we could tell that the host is an architect – it's a design lover's dream. Let's start with the outdoor space – it's fantastic. There are a couple of balconies with cityscape outlooks on one side and sunset views on the other, while the roof terrace is perfect for cocktails. We love the vistas that stretch from the Acropolis to the hills of Athens. Inside, double-height ceilings, concrete finishes, a modern steel staircase and wooden floors are softened with powder blue and pink furnishings, as well as lots of tropical plants and orchids. Large windows allow light to flood in – the living space is wonderful. Relax on the comfy sofa and read one of the design or guidebooks here.

They are fantastic any time of day, but we particularly love the vistas at sunset and then as dark approaches when Greece's most famous monument is all lit up. It’s a divine spot for a glass of wine.
