We’ve fallen head over heels for this elegant villa perched just 800 metres from the silk-sand shores of Arillas. But with sunset views over the Ionian Sea this show-stopping, can you blame us?

Hit rest and reset with lazy, hazy mornings of sun worshipping on the loungers dotted around the grassed lawns and bobbing about the blue infinity pool. Then break up the day and beat the midday heat beneath the shady pergola. The outdoor kitchen is primed for rustling up simple lunches of grilled seafood, fresh bread (the nearby traditional Greek bakery can help with that), and chilled Retsina on the side.

If you feel a post-lunch slumber coming on, head indoors to have a cheeky siesta in the free-flowing, light-filled living space united by restful interiors. A private path leads from the terrace to the sand of Paleokastritsa beach where boats for snorkelling trips, tavernas for long lunches and shaded loungers await. So, you can join the crowds on the beach or opt for the privacy of your terrace, overlooking the sea. Sunsets here are particularly spectacular – illuminating the coastline in golden light – perhaps best enjoyed from the covered lounge area with a cold drink in hand. A porticoed veranda covers sofas and chairs all facing the sea and the serene swimming pool invites you for a dip in the heat of the day. 

Pull back the glass doors and let the beachy breeze into the open living area. In here, a lofty wooden ceiling lets the air circulate and the decor is a soothing medley of scavenged artefacts – twisting rope lights above the long dining table and driftwood pieces throughout. There’s an alfresco dining area – perfect for sharing feasts as a group. Alternatively, you can relax in the cool and minimal living space with a glass of ouzo. Beyond the villa, you'll find plenty of cafes and seafront tavernas to enjoy, or why not drive 12.5km to the fishing village of Kassiopi for a lively evening amongst the locals?

There's room for all twenty-one of you to pile into this palatial Corfu villa, set just a 500-metre flip-flop from Agios Ioannis Beach and a little further from the bustle of Sidari (800 metres). Perfect for a multi-generational family stay, alongside the main house, there's a garden annexe sleeping four guests, and kids will love you for the separate children's pool, swings, and pool table set-up. If we were being picky, the interiors may feel a little dated for some. But for a home of this size, we can forgive that.

From its hilltop position in Dassia, this villa boasts unobstructed sea views. If you'd like to start your days by eating organic, locally grown fruits and taking idyllic walks through the countryside, this stone farmhouse is the place for you. Live the laidback life you’ve dreamed of, where the only decision to make is which of the many seating areas to read your book from. 

Sitting atop a mountain, nestled among 3 acres of olive trees, oaks and cypresses, you can only imagine the gorgeous views this home is treated to. You’ll feel a far cry from Paleokastritsa and its bars, restaurants, and beaches, although it's just a fifteen-minute drive away. 

Stepping inside, you’ll find an interior that is exactly what you expect from a charming country house – stone brick walls, vaulted ceilings, and homely touches. But there are mod-cons aplenty, with a luxurious jacuzzi bath and chef’s kitchen. However, we imagine you’ll want to spend most of your time taking advantage of your dreamy outdoor area. 

When you’re not taking dips in the pool or soaking up the sun, you’ll love reading in the swaying hammock, playing cards on the patio, or even doing a quick workout in the outdoor gym area. All the while, the bucolic scenery of rolling hills and luscious trees provides a sense of peace. 

The best place to take in the views is from the stone barbecue area – nothing beats tucking into a dinner of fresh grilled produce while watching the sun dip behind the mountainous landscape.

We are totally smitten with this stunning Corfu villa, and with just one glance at the outdoor space, you'll see exactly why – the beautiful infinity pool, the flowing white curtains and the views over the hills and houses of picturesque Corfu, all work to make this home feel like a true paradise. It's based in a peaceful and pretty spot, just a short drive from the beach in the idyllic village of Kastania.

Lazy sunny mornings can be spent floating in the pool with a freshly squeezed OJ in hand, while warm afternoons invite you to get stuck into a good book on one of the beanbag loungers. There's a covered dining area here too where you can feast on Greek salads and kebabs, and share a toast to your special getaway.

While it's perched in a peaceful spot, the home is just a short drive from many beaches and a choice of tavernas. If you’re travelling with young children, the shallow section of the swimming pool will be a welcome addition and cooking alfresco will be a breeze, thanks to the barbecue on the poolside terrace. That said, our favourite spot is the balcony – we can't resist those panoramas.

Nestled on the shores of Corfu just steps from the beautiful Agnos beach lies this stunning villa waiting to help you get the most out of your holiday. With your own private swimming pool complete with sun loungers and tiki parasols for working on that perfect beach tan, along with an alfresco dining area by the barbecue, you'll easily spend just as much time outside as you will indoors. If you're in the ground floor bedroom will be able to simply roll out of bed and into the garden through the glass doors by their bedside, easy for those hoping to get a morning swim in. Or, if morning yoga is more your thing, head up to the rooftop terrace and greet the sun properly, then lounge in the hammock for a rest and soak in that vitamin D. Explore and you'll find an almost-private path leading straight to Agnos beach, making it feel like your own private space during your stay. In the evening, gather in the living room and fire up the wood-burning fireplace for a cosy end of the day.

Perched on a picturesque hillside surrounded by olive trees in northern Corfu, this villa has a gorgeous view of the Ionian Sea and the island's coastal villages in the distance. 

Thankfully, there's no shortage of ways to admire this landscape, whether you're seated on one of the bedroom's balconies, enjoying a dinner cooked on the barbecue underneath the pergola, or even paddling about in the swimming pool. Thanks to the tables out on the terrace, you can even drink in the scenery while playing a spot of ping-pong or pool.

Inside, the home is gloriously bright as a result of the generous amount of floor-to-ceiling windows and glass doors. The stark white walls and sleek surfaces work to accentuate this natural light, while welcome bursts of colour come from the furnishings and artwork. We're glad to see a fireplace in the living room, which will be the perfect setting once the sun goes down.

If you fancy a day at the seaside at any point, Barbati Beach only takes fifteen minutes or so to reach in the car. Nymfes Waterfall sits twenty-five minutes' drive in the other direction, as well.


Summer Sojourn

Contemporary and super stylish, this sleek new home is part of a small development built into the hillside, overlooking the beautiful bay of Syvota. With some of the most romantic Ionian sunset views you're likely to find, it's been designed for up to four. Here there's nothing to distract from the main event – the epic sea view – with a luxurious private infinity pool disappearing over the edge and frameless glass balustrades.

Inside it's cool, modern, and minimal. White and grey hues, along with smooth concrete, natural stone, and lots of glass keep it fresh and bright, and it's a world away from the stresses of day-to-day life. Whip up a breakfast of fresh fruit and coffee, read all day on the sunny terrace, or drive to one of the area's fabulous beaches, later heading into town for a special meal together. Just be sure to get home in time to watch the sun go down – you won't want to miss it.

You’ll find this laidback retreat, with its coastal-inspired colour scheme and grounding natural textures, just ten metres from Agia Paraskevi Beach. Waking up here is a pleasure, especially when an Ionian breeze drifts through the open windows. Begin your mornings with a traditional Greek breakfast in the neat living space before heading out onto the terrace to watch the day slip away from the vantage point of a lounger. If the heat gets to be a bit much, cool off with a dip in the pool or skip down to the seafront to bob about in the calm waves. 

In the late afternoon, jump in the car and take the ten-minute drive into Sivota for a bite to eat in a family-run taverna and a stroll through the vibrant streets. Find a spot to watch the sunset by the marina then head home for an early night in your comfortable bed.

You'll find many a Corfu home with views of the Ionian Sea and plenty more that look out to Mount Pantokrator, but rarely will you see one with a panorama that manages to combine both of these natural elements in such picturesque fashion.

Perched just above the village of Barbati, this villa has been blessed when it comes to the surrounding landscape and it really makes the most of it. You can appreciate this peaceful scenery while swimming in the infinity pool, dining out on the terrace or relaxing on the bedroom's balcony before you turn in for the night.

On Corfu’s east coast, perched upon a hilltop is this stunning retreat. It’s a hard one to beat. The 180-degree sea views are out of this world. Watch them as you float in the dreamy heated pool. Or as you gather with your favourite people around the alfresco table. Happy days. 

Inside, a lot of thought has gone into the details. Carefully curated art hangs from the bare brick feature walls. The pleasingly sturdy stone floors, lead to huge floor-to-ceiling glass doors. There’s that sea view again. Meanwhile, colourful designer sofas are there for slumping on during sun breaks. A Bluetooth sound system is on hand for early evening barbecues on the terrace. Kids are well catered for too. We’re talking PlayStation; table tennis; board games…the list goes on.

You’ll find this dreamy pad in Kalami, close enough to the village to reach it on foot and also within walking distance of Gialiskari Beach. It’s also close to the famous White House, home of the Durrells in the 1930s. Spread over three floors – and with a handy lift – this home has plenty of room for a large group. The outside space features a heated pool with hydrotherapy jets and a pool pergola with an outdoor shower. Two guests will be sleeping on single sofa beds in the lounge area of bedroom five, but with views like these, you won’t be wasting much of your time in bed anyway.

Sivota is well known for its hilly terrain and striking shores – a truly unique coastline that's perfect for hiking, as well as island hopping to nearby Corfu and Paxos. But with pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters, you might not need to leave the mainland. And just a seven-minute drive from Sivota Marina, this villa might give you more reasons to stay put.

After arriving at this hillside abode, the first thing you’ll notice is the breathtaking coastal view. This home makes the most of its mountain location by allowing the scenery to extend out from its glass terraces. An infinity pool takes pride of place, with cushioned loungers at either side, where you can start with brunch in the morning, a swim in the afternoon, then cocktails as you watch glorious sunsets over the archipelago.

When you need a top-up, head in through huge glass, sliding doors and into a modern living space. Understated furniture, white walls, and a matte grey kitchen make the whole room feel bright and fresh. There’s a second sitting room which can act as a private office should you need to work remotely – the sea view from glass balcony doors here can’t help but inspire and you can pause for a break on lounge furniture as boats drift by. Those that appreciate a bit more privacy can opt for the garden annexe with its own entrance, kitchenette and sitting room.

This villa grabbed our attention for its spectacular views of the Ionian Sea. Best appreciated from the poolside – where you can watch the sunset over the water – each room inside also has sea views. Add to this an infinity lap pool, a shaded alfresco dining area, and direct access to a rocky beach, and you have all the ingredients for a memorable holiday. Located on the island of Paxos, which is only 10 kilometres by three kilometres, nothing is far away here. We recommend hiring a car to visit the island’s three villages, Gaios, Loggos, and Lakka, and discover some of the many swimming coves along the coast.
