Found next to Brooke Square in Skyros Town, this villa was built way back in 1892 and it still overflows with charm more than a century on. Much of this is down to the stunning view of the Aegean Sea that comes with the elevated position, which can be enjoyed in the garden, balcony or even out through the large windows that also bathe the space in natural light.

Some typically Skyrian architectural features have been retained — including a large patch of exposed rock in the dining room — but it's fair to say that the interior has been modernised over the years. This means that you'll find whitewashed walls, sleek bathrooms and a rather smart kitchen complete with an island.

Just two minutes' walk from the home, you'll find a pair of Museums, one devoted to archaeology and the other to ethnology and folklore. Skyros's whitewashed streets are pleasant to wander about aimlessly, but Magazia Beach is only a ten-minute walk for when you want a dip in the sea.


Poetic Beauty

Wake up to the crisp scent of the sea air, the sight of the beautiful, blue water of the Aegean and the soothing sound of the waves kissing the shore. It's a sensory gift that you never tire of receiving.

Once you've felt the magic of your surroundings, walk down one of the most idyllic stairways in the world and reach the golden sands of the beach. Serene and secluded, it feels like your own personal paradise on this glorious island.

After a day of sunbathing and splashing in the water, the charming villa is decorated in gorgeous seating areas. Taste the delicious bites of souvlaki, bread and hummus whilst you soak in the breathtaking views. Once sun sets on the sea, grab a bottle of wine to share as the sky turns from deep blue into a warm, dusty red.

Away from the luxury of the villa, the charming towns that form Skopelos are just moments away. Discover the enchanting tavernas for pretty spots to watch the island's sleepy lifestyle unfold.


Ocean Stairway

Located atop a rocky bar of Koundouros, this home is made up of independent lower and upper levels, each with their own kitchen and living areas. Outside, the terrace is well-equipped for soaking up the sun or alfresco dining, with lovely sea views and private sea access on the rock platforms below. Things might be a bit of a squeeze at full capacity, so you'll want to pack light. A ten-minute walk will bring you to the nearest sandy beaches of Koundouros, and you'll find beach bars, tavernas and water sports.

Turquoise Charm

If you’re on the lookout for a super-house for multiple families, in a spectacular island setting, this is it. Standing high on a hill on stunning Aegina Island, the home is perfectly placed. The 180-degree ocean views are epic from here. But the buzzy city centre is pleasingly close enough just 4km away. 

The villa is set over four levels, with plenty of space for a gang of eighteen. The vibe is relaxed, with lots of colour and homely touches. Families will especially love it here. Table tennis, giant chess, a playground and basketball facilities mean the kids are well catered for. Meanwhile, the grown-ups can recline with a book by the oh-so-chic infinity pool. Heaven. 

If you can drag yourself away, it’s worth exploring this beautiful island. Your nearest beach is Marathonas – its shallow water makes it a great spot for little ones to swim. Or don your best hiking shoes and explore the nature-rich mountains where there are ancient chapels to discover. 

Then head home, fire up the built-in barbecue and feast with your loved ones as the sun sets over the ocean. 

Far And Wide

Sparkling sea views, oodles of balconies and a dazzling pool for swims in the sun – what more could you want for a holiday in Greece? Bright, serene and stylish, this modern villa has four floors of contemporary conveniences, from the compact gym and TV lounge downstairs to the light-filled living space on the second floor. There's even an in-house elevator, so you won't need to worry about dragging your baggage up and down all the steps. 

We love a lot about this villa – underfloor heating, mood lighting, rainfall showers – but our favourite has to be the lavish main suite. Set on the entirety of the top floor, not only does it have a jacuzzi tub in the en-suite bathroom, but a private balcony, where you can savour your morning coffee and admire the ebb and flow of the ocean. In the afternoons, sip wine in the sunshine and cool off with a dip in the pool. When you're feeling peckish, rustle up something delicious in the high-spec kitchen and dig in on the grassy courtyard, then make your way out to the many balconies and watch as the sun dips below the horizon.

When you fancy venturing out, it's just a five-minute drive to Althea Beach and thirty minutes to Athens, so you'll have a choice between sand and surf or city sightseeing – we think that's the best of both worlds.

Myths of Lore

Just over 2 kilometres from the beach on the island of Aegina, this villa is a dream for coastal-loving families and groups of friends. With ten bedrooms and bathrooms, multiple living areas, a large dining space, and an infinity pool that seems to melt into the horizon, there’s plenty of room for everyone to unwind. Don’t fancy cooking for a crowd? Breakfast and daily housekeeping are included, or for the ultimate indulgence, you can bring in a private chef to serve up classic Greek dishes under the stars.

Aegina Retreat

Villa Perimeno

Part of a pretty resort on the edge of Skopelos Town, this home is a great pick for groups of friends or families. It's composed of the main apartment and two studios – one of which has wheelchair access – meaning that all your loved ones can enjoy their own space and make some lasting memories together. 

Each of the living spaces has its own kitchen area, so your guests can have some independence and create their own schedules. Step outside to relax on the terrace with a fresh coffee in the morning, or a final sundowner come evening as you admire the fabulous views across the bay. You'll also have access to a sparkling swimming pool where you can cool off on hot days, and a nearby shared tennis court – it's perfect for practicing your serve. 

Your host runs a shuttle bus into the port, where you can stroll through the charming streets and stop off at local tavernas for freshly caught seafood. They will also provide four bikes for you to use, should you fancy exploring the rugged hillsides and olive groves on two wheels. And, if you're craving a day on the sand, then head to beautiful Stafilos Beach – it's just 4km away and has crystal clear waters to swim in. 

Harbour Vista

Nestled on the island of Kea, in the Aegean Sea, you'll find this charming home. Blending Cycladic style with modern comforts, it's an excellent choice for families or groups of friends who are excited to spend some time in these dreamy surroundings.

The exterior, with its pale blue shutters and stone walls, echoes the area's traditional architecture and fits perfectly into the peaceful area. Step inside, and you'll find a relaxing space where you can chill out on the sofa, or take a restful snooze in one of the king-size bedrooms. And, the outdoor space is just as impressive – the infinity pool is especially stunning, with epic views across the water. You'll love spending time out here, sipping cocktails on the sunny patio or lazing under the shady pergola, before gathering your guests together to share a lavish alfresco evening meal. 

Fans of the beach will be delighted that Otzias Bay is just two kilometres away – pack up a picnic and enjoy a day on the sand. A five-kilometre car ride will bring you into the port town of Coressia, where you can stroll through the picture-perfect streets and dine on fresh seafood at the local tavernas. And, if you head inland, you can hike through the beautiful island landscapes, stopping off at rural villages and historic sites as you go. 

The Sky is the Limit

With panoramic views over the saltwater Lake Vouliagmeni, Mount Hymettus and the Gulf of Corinth – this home is inspiring. It’s easy to escape the everyday stresses of life here. Enjoy the welcome basket of breakfast goodies provided by your lovely hosts, lounge by your private pool, relax in the jacuzzi or our favourite – watch the most glorious of sunsets from the balcony. 

If you’ve got the energy to burn, head to the basketball court for a friendly game. Inside, this modern luxurious villa, earthy tones create a warm and comforting environment. There are plenty of toys and games for the little ones too – this place is perfect for a family.

When you fancy exploring, take a ten-minute stroll to Lake Vouliagmeni with its charming tavernas and picturesque bars. Other attractions in the area include Loutraki Thermal Spa, five miles away, while the Archaeological Museum of Ancient Corinth and Penteskoufi Castle are both around eight miles from this gorgeous home.


Mount Hymettus Reflections

This charming home offers the best of both worlds, as it’s perfectly positioned between Athens and the beaches of mainland Greece. It’s in a quiet suburb close to the golden sands of the Attica coastline, so you can spend your days paddling in the sea or lounging beside the private pool, if you don’t fancy a day-trip to the Acropolis. The villa is spread over four floors, with a top-floor terrace that boasts sea views. The architect-designed home is sleek and stylish, with floor-to-ceiling windows that bring the outside in. You'll have everything you need for a relaxing break here, though one guest will sleep on a sofa bed. 

The Eyes of Artemis

Art Deco aficionados will adore this home on the Athenian riviera. Designed by a French architect in the 1930s, the special house has been modernised over the years but is still rich in original features. From the grand oak staircase to the terrazzo tiles in the hallway, it's a visual feast for nostalgic travellers.

And there's more to see in the gardens – that's right, there are two gardens. On the east side, you'll find a sun lounger-fringed swimming pool as well as a peaceful veranda. The west garden is home to a flourishing orange tree, which provides shade for the six-person dining table. Grill up a storm on the barbecue and spend all evening outdoors.

History buffs can't leave this area without visiting the Temple of Apollo at Corinth, fifteen minutes away by car. The limestone structure is perched on a rocky hill with views over the ancient city. But even closer to home, there are plenty of beaches, shops and tavernas to meet all of your holiday needs – you'll likely hear the Loutraki Waterfalls whispering as you stroll around the village.
