Perched on a hilltop within walking distance of Agios Prokopios Beach and a short car ride from Naxos, this room offers a restful stay for a couple or solo traveller. There’s no kitchen here, so you’ll need to head out at mealtimes. Fortunately, there are plenty of tavernas within driving distance of your doorstep. Our favourite feature was the terrace – we couldn’t get enough of the private pool, especially after a nap on the loungers.

There isn’t a swimming pool here, but it does have a balcony and a terrace with a barbecue – perfect for alfresco dining. Your host can also help organise a range of extra services, including massage treatments, guided island tours and car rentals. Housekeeping is included in your stay, plus you’ll find a welcome basket provided for your arrival. And for a taste of the island’s vibrant spirit, head to Naxos town – just 16 kilometres away.

Widely considered to be the best beach in Ios (if not one of the best beaches in Greece), you can expect exquisite golden sand and crystal clear waters just a stroll away from your own front door. Fourteen acres of gardens, vineyards and vegetable patches surround this stone-built villa on the coast of Paros. Along with the gardener, you can harvest the gardens for olives, cucumbers, tomatoes and fresh herbs to liven up any barbecue (thanks to the full outdoor kitchen and bar). From the lagoon-style pool, you’ve got a beautiful view of the Gulf of Molos and Molos Beach is just a five-minute walk away. The vast rooftop terrace is perfect for yoga sessions and there’s a heated Jacuzzi up here. Bedrooms are spread out across the main villa and guesthouse in the garden, and there are two spacious living rooms for the group to unwind, not including the fabulous outdoor lounge.

While parking is possible at the entrance of the village, a car isn’t essential as the area is best explored on foot, with Katharos Beach just a 19-minute walk away.
