We think it's ideal for getting to know the city, whether you're travelling for work or leisure. You'll have your own small balcony here – while it overlooks neighbouring buildings and may not feel the most private, there's enough space to enjoy an evening drink and fresh air. At full capacity, two guests will sleep on the sofa bed in the living room, and if you're planning on staying indoors a lot, things might feel a little cramped. There's parking here though, and you'll want a car for exploring the city's attractions and nearby beaches.

In Nea Skioni, Halkidiki, this villa is just 50 metres from the nearest sandy beach. It’s a short walk into the coastal town, where you’ll find seafood restaurants and family-run tavernas galore. Days can be spent by the poolside, or indulging in long, lazy lunches on the terrace outdoors with the sea shimmering in the distance. Although it’s one of four similar maisonettes within a holiday complex, the traditional Greek touches inside – a stone fireplace and beachy bric-a-brac on the open-plan living area – save it from feeling generic.

Back at home, the large garden, while rather empty, is perfect for family football games. Let the kids tire themselves out before bed, and then enjoy the sunset views peacefully from the outdoor seating area.

Exploring the UNESCO city of Thessaloniki and other Northern Greece gems is a cinch from this pocket-sized studio apartment. You're within easy walking distance of Thessaloniki train station, and there's free street parking right outside. Granted, the kitchenette is small, but it's surprisingly well-equipped. The private balcony for evening drinks is a nice touch too. It's worth noting, though, if three of you share, the last guest will have to make do with a sofa bed –⁠ so privacy and space are lacking here. Expect to pay a small fee for your initial supply of bedding and towels, too.

A short drive away from Kallithea sits the tiny village of Afytos. More laid-back than other towns in Halkidiki, it's a great spot for a low-key getaway – and it's where you'll find this pet-friendly apartment. Perched on the cliffs overlooking the sea, the private terrace is ideal for soaking up the sunshine and scenery. It's part of a resort, so you'll also have access to a communal swimming pool (open seasonally) and the small bay at the base of the (very steep) hill. The interiors are a little lacklustre and veer towards dated, but the location speaks for itself. Your host is also happy to arrange excursions, boat trips and other fun-filled activities for a fee.

Edge of the Sea

This modern apartment is a fuss-free base to return to after days spent exploring sun-soaked Thessaloniki. We recommend hiring a car if you want to visit the beach or attractions such as the Church of Saint Paul and the White Tower. You will, however, find restaurants close by, which is handy, as the kitchen here is only suitable for light bites. The home also features a private balcony for enjoying a cup of coffee, and the pared-back bedroom is plenty comfortable. 

Grecian Breeze

This practical studio apartment is ideal for a couple or solo traveller looking to explore Thessaloniki’s sights. And, thanks to the dedicated desk space, it’s perfect for those in town on business too. While space is limited and the kitchenette is best suited to light bites due to its lack of oven, the home’s location puts you within easy reach of plenty of must-sees, including the Church of the Holy Apostles, Aristotelous Square and the Roman Forum of Thessaloniki. With your host able to provide lots of local recommendations, as well as a plethora of extras like massages, sailing trips and activity-filled excursions, you’re in for a memorable stay.

A functional apartment in central Thessaloniki with style to spare, we think this home is perfect for families or friends looking to spend an extended period in the city or who want a short city break. With all the amenities you'll need, you won't have to dine out every night nor use a laundrette here. Within a two-kilometre radius, you'll find Aristotelous Square, the White Tower of Thessaloniki, and Ladadika, making the home a great base to explore the city.

Rather impressively, this is far from the only standout feature at this address. If the coastal panorama proves tempting, there's direct access to a small rocky beach so you can roll out of bed and be swimming in mere moments. If you just prefer to admire it from afar, you can do so from the seating on the pergola or on the master bedroom's masterful balcony.

There's plenty to like about the interior, too. The open kitchen-living-dining area is a triumph of muted colours and sleek surfaces, while the bedrooms showcase modern minimalist style at its best.

When you've exhausted the private pool and private beach, why not embark upon a hike in Dragoudeliou nature reserve to the south of the peninsula?

Though not the biggest, this is a comfortable home for four guests and the balcony is a nice touch, offering a sunny spot for your morning coffee. Parking can be tricky and you’ll need to pay in the city centre, but transport links are just five minutes away at Aristotelous Square, and with local amenities and sights within walking distance of the apartment, we’d recommend exploring on foot.

If you’re looking for the perfect place to spend an unforgettable holiday with your friends or family – this large villa in Halkidiki ticks all the boxes. You'll find this apartment in the heart of Thessaloniki. Restaurants on your doorstep, landmarks within walking distance, the sea only a short stroll away – how's that for a top-notch location? The apartment itself isn't bad, either. We like the jungle themed-design, and although some rooms are a little dated (namely the bathroom), there's a decent amount of space here for families and friends. But our favourite is the small balcony overlooking the street – it's the perfect spot to enjoy a coffee or glass of wine in the salt-tinged air.

Location-wise, you're just a twenty-minute stroll from the sandy Blue Flag Hanioti Beach when you crave some a day on the sea. There are also restaurants, coffee shops, bars and independent boutiques to explore in town – many of which are within walking distance.

And just a six-minute drive from here, your villa offers an ideal base for exploring these striking lands.

Your front patio is located in the most perfect setting – upon arrival, you'll immediately see wide vistas across sapphire waters, stretching as far as Ammouliani Island. But just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, you’ve got sun loungers, an alfresco dining terrace, and a pool deck in tow. Plunge into the heated pool and rinse off in the outdoor shower before wandering inside to dry off.

The abode is located in a complex with three other villas in close proximity, so there may be little privacy. Inside, space is tight for a group of ten, so the place is better suited for those who like to spend their time in the sunshine. Outside, there’s a pool and a well-kept garden with a terrace for both dining and relaxing.
