As well as the infinity pool and Jacuzzi, there are a total of ten alfresco lounges or dining areas spread across terraces and verandahs, so you can change things up every night if you so wish.

The home itself is rather palatial both in scale and design — as you perhaps might expect from somewhere with its own helipad. The white walls and shiny floors accentuate the plentiful amounts of natural light from the glass doors, while natural materials, such as the stone fireplace and wood ceiling beams, have been seamlessly added in for an extra layer of authenticity.

An added perk is the fact that there's direct access to your private beach a  short walk from the home and there are larger public seaside spots nearby too, including Ampela only five minutes' walk away.

Built in 1780, this honey-hued stone villa sits in the quiet village of Ano Manna. In the big, private garden, large pine trees date back to the 1800s and still provide shade and a forest scent to this day. Here you’ll find hammocks strung up between trees, a built-in stone barbecue with its cast-iron cauldron still intact and a kids playground with a climbing wall, swings and a trampoline. A separate stone building is home to the gym, packed with state-of-the-art equipment and a bubbling sunken Jacuzzi for a post-workout soak.

There are two living rooms to choose from – one on the ground floor and the other on the first floor. A handful of classic novels and a vintage radio add a nostalgic feel alongside rough painted rockers in the sunny window spot. Thick stone walls in the kitchen are a throwback to yesteryear and you can dine at the rustic farmhouse table inside, or the stone table outside.

When it comes to exploring Syros, it’s a ten-minute drive to the main town of Ermoupoli and seven minutes to the charming beach town of Azolimnos.

This huge villa on the south coast of Syros is equally impressive inside and out. On summer days, you're sure to want to pass afternoons in the swimming pool full of multicolour LED lights and Jacuzzi, before whipping up a feast in the barbecue area. Just beyond this, there's a well-maintained garden as well as a private beach measuring thirty metres long.

Although it faces tough competition, the interior somehow manages to match this. The all-white walls, floor and furnishings are instantly soothing and allow for some of the more characterful touches to really pop out, including bold pieces of artwork, rustic wood decorations and nods to the area's nautical history — the kid's bed shaped like a boat is particularly adorable. The gym and home cinema will be appreciated by some of the guests as well.

In addition to the neighbouring seaside, the town of Ermoupoli takes only thirteen minutes to reach in the car and offers a range of historic monuments, museums, and a gallery. Gria Cave is under thirty minutes' drive away, too.

From the lagoon-style pool, you’ve got a beautiful view of the Gulf of Molos and Molos Beach is just a five-minute walk away. The vast rooftop terrace is perfect for yoga sessions and there’s a heated Jacuzzi up here. Bedrooms are spread out across the main villa and guesthouse in the garden, and there are two spacious living rooms for the group to unwind, not including the fabulous outdoor lounge. 

A Reflection In Water

Perched on a hilltop within walking distance of Agios Prokopios Beach and a short car ride from Naxos, this room offers a restful stay for a couple or solo traveller. There’s no kitchen here, so you’ll need to head out at mealtimes. Fortunately, there are plenty of tavernas within driving distance of your doorstep. Our favourite feature was the terrace – we couldn’t get enough of the private pool, especially after a nap on the loungers.

Tucked away near a sheltered beach in Alyko, next to the cedar forest, is this lovely villa. It’s in a peaceful spot, with plenty of privacy from its neighbouring villas, so it’s a great choice for those hoping to relax and unwind. 

Wake up each morning to sunlight streaming into the calm villa, with its exposed stone walls, simple white colour palette, and natural wood touches. Prepare breakfast to enjoy out on the terrace, before slipping into the private pool for a dip. You might stroll over to the golden sands and clear water of the beach, before returning to the villa for cocktails on the rooftop. Watch from the hot tub as the sun sinks in the sky towards the sea. It’s a wonderful view.

At dusk, seek out a restaurant for a slap-up supper by the water.

With an idyllic setting, just a three-minute stroll from the long sandy beach of Ganema, this villa with stunning Aegean Sea views is the perfect Greek retreat. A little further afield, the scenic main town of Serifos, home to charming sugar-cubed houses, is around 8 miles away, while Livadi Port and a smattering of seafront restaurants is under a fifteen-minute drive. This small, ruggedly beautiful island is a hidden gem with its steadfast traditions, majestic mountains and pristine, tamarisk-fringed beaches.

You don't have to go anywhere for vistas of golden sands and sparkling azure waters, though. Just take a seat on the terrace or relax in the hammock – our favourite spot at sunset. Sip some tsipouro (your friendly hosts provide a bottle in your welcome hamper) between bites of Greek meze as the day turns to night. Then, spend the evening gazing at a sky full of diamond-like stars. Inside this home, there are beautiful character features, such as stone walls, beamed ceilings, and outlooks to the dreamy seascape. This place is ideal for a family or group of friends who want to get away from it all.



Shells Along The Shore

This amazing Greek villa is located on the North-East coast of the Island of Kea. The stone house looks out over the beautiful turquoise ocean with a view of the island of Euboea and the coast of Attica. 

The perfect home for relaxing and recovering, why not take so time to lounge in the Greek sunshine and enjoy the warmth of its rays on your skin. Then, slip into the cooling waters of the freshwater swimming pool, and enjoy the stunning views while you float leisurely in the pool. 

Just a six-minute drive to Otzias, you can enjoy the sandy beaches and soothing sound of waves lapping at the shore, or dine in one of the local Tavernas. The village of Vourkari – just an eight-minute drive away – provides an opportunity for not only beach days but also scuba diving experiences. 

Coressia, the island’s port, is just a twelve-minute drive away, while the capital Ioulis is a twenty-five-minute drive away. In Ioulis you will be able to visit the archaeological museum and even see the Lion of Kea – an impressive early Greek stone monument that dates back to the Archaic period. 

What’s more, there is a regular ferry connection between Athens and Kea which takes about an hour, taking you to the Lavrion port. From here, you can drive about fifty-six minutes to Greece’s capital and explore everything Athens has to offer. 

After all your exploring, return home to the villa in the evening and cook some delicious souvlaki on the barbecue before dining alfresco as you enjoy the sun setting over the vista.
