The sea is just a short distance of 10 km while skiing areas are approximately 40 km away. Please note that the owner lives in the same residence, has a dog, and does not accept any youth groups.

In the exclusive Portofino peninsula, this villa is a ten-minute walk from the harbour's designer shops and seafood restaurants. You'll have private access to the sea on a small rocky platform, and the large terrace is shaded by century-old wisteria with space for alfresco dining. Parking is limited, and although the sea is on your doorstep, it's worth noting that the nearest beach is best reached by public transport.

This fairy tale tower is the perfect place for a unique, romantic getaway. Located in picturesque Porto Venere, you’ll have four floors to yourselves here, including a roof terrace with sea views. The stone tower, which dates back to 1161, boasts a marble dining table – perfect for pasta for two – a Jacuzzi bathtub, and a wine cellar. To make your stay even more special, your host provides breakfast and can help arrange a variety of treats, such as a private chef to cook for you at home. Dating back to the early 1900s, you can see the turn-of-the-century architecture in the stone steps between terraces and wooden-shuttered windows. It’s a veritable playground for those that seek relaxation in the terraced gardens, where succulents fill the perfectly positioned flower beds. Spend days floating in the sleek, modern swimming pool with its integrated Jacuzzi. Lunch can be taken at the round table on the lower terrace, while dinner can be set up on the upper terrace at the more formal spot. Sun loungers are shaded by parasols and there are two hanging egg chairs for reading in the sun. From here, you can catch a glimpse of the sea with the Pontine islands floating in the deep blue.

Inside, it’s an ode to grandeur as rooms are filled with gallery-worthy sculptures and striking paintings. Art deco chandeliers in the luxe living room hark back to the villa’s origins and you can take in that sea view from the comfort of plush sofas. Parquet flooring intersects with the original salvaged mosaic. We love the light-filled kitchen with its green splashes of trailing botanica. Or, perhaps, the original vaulted ceiling in the basement bedroom with its baby grand piano in the corner. 

Location-wise, you’re in the coastal town of Circeo where a long stretch of beach is just a short walk away. In the other direction, the ancient, walled centre of town awaits with a handful of local trattoria in the shambling streets.

There's something rather magical about the view from this apartment nestled within a private park in Positano – ruggedly beautiful cliffsides peppered with dwellings part to reveal a burst of gloriously blue Tyrrhenian Sea and the uninterrupted skyline beyond. It makes for a charming backdrop while you soak up the sunshine or enjoy alfresco meals on the terrace.

Although the apartment itself lies on the smaller side of things, we're quite fond of the bright and contemporary design, particularly the sleek white galley kitchen and the fetching patterned tiling underfoot in the bedrooms. It's a home that's been owned by the same family for more than three decades, but you can certainly tell that it's received plenty of attention in recent years.

The local town of Positano itself isn't large, so most of the attractions are easily reachable on foot, including the golden sands of Spiaggia Grande Positano only 400 metres from the front door. In the wider area, those fond of a hike will appreciate the hilly terrain and walking routes found throughout the Amalfi Coast.

Designed by architect Cini Boeri, this wonderfully unique home in Sardinia is tilted forward to better show off the panoramic views of its incredible surroundings. Created to make the most of indoor-outdoor living, it's also cleverly constructed to keep the south-facing areas cool and shaded, shielding your from the heat of the Sardinian sun. While the stark grey facade and sharply angled lines make a breathtaking first impression, we think the interiors speak for themselves too. We love how the architect decided to show off the incredible landscape of La Maddalena by creating a picture frame out of every window – each one set at the exact right height to maximise the impact. There’s even a telescope in the study so you can explore the area from the comfort of your own home, or go full Rear Window and see what your neighbours are up to down in the harbour. The muted grey tones of the exterior are mirrored in the contemporary kitchen, while the dining room is framed by floor-to-ceiling windows offering the best views in the house. Outside, you’ll find a wooden deck that’s perfect for morning coffees, evening cocktails, and everything in between.
