The first thing you'll notice about this Docklands apartment is its decadent size – including a huge modern kitchen. The second thing you’ll notice is its arty feel, achieved by colourful patchwork rugs and a baby grand piano. The third thing you’ll notice is an extraordinary balcony, positioned right above the Thames and ideal for watching passing boats and birds, or admiring Canary Wharf. Homely and handily step-free, the flat also comes with more bathrooms than bedrooms.

The Wonderwall

Located in Wapping and overlooking Tobacco Dock, this bright apartment gives you bird's eye views across the city and a comfortable base to call home.

We love how much light pours into the living room from the glass doors that lead out onto a private balcony. Sip your morning coffee here as you survey the towering skyline before you or perch here with a sundowner before discovering the area’s food scene.

The bedroom boasts equally dazzling floor-to-ceiling windows, as well as a comfortable bed you’ll relish crawling into after a long soak in the bathroom’s tub.

When it comes to sightseeing, take a stroll through Wapping Woods (a five-minute walk) or amble along the Thames Path, eight minutes away on foot. You’re also a twenty-five-minute walk from the Tower of London, while bustling Spitalfields Market is just over a half-hour away on foot.

Dock City

When you're sitting amidst the earthy tones and quiet calmness of the garden, you won't believe you're in the City of London. The idyllic space has a relaxed serenity that belies its central location.

Spend cosy mornings here with a coffee, slowly waking up with the city around you. In the evenings, fire up the BBQ and gather around the cute table, sharing bites of grilled burgers and bottles of crisp wine.

When the weather's not on your side, move into the chic style of your home. The earthy palette continues throughout the open plan living room and kitchen – light, brown shades mingle with the pure white tones on the walls and kitchen counter.

There's even paintings of floral and natural themes – alongside a catalogue of plants – to further the earthy energy. A sofa and straw chair present cosy places to relax, or you can perch at the breakfast bar with a selection of toast and jams.

For more intimate dining, share snacks and a bottle of wine on the circular dining table. But, since you're so close to various pubs, bars and restaurants, you may as well sample the local joints. We suggest the pretty pubs and bars around St Katharine's Docks for good food with a picturesque view.

Coming of Age

Located in the riverside area of Wapping, this home is less than a ten-minute stroll from the Thames. You’ll also have the London landmarks of Tower Bridge and the Tower of London within a fifteen-minute walk. And for easy access to the rest of the capital, Wapping station is thirteen minutes away by foot. The home itself boasts a private balcony – the perfect spot to enjoy a drink from the mini bar – and a sociable, open-plan living area. We think this contemporary pad is a great option for a couple or solo traveller wanting a comfortable base in a convenient location.

A Tower View

With its contemporary design and quiet location, this home in Wapping ensures a restful stay in east London. There’s a private garden with a picnic bench for enjoying a bite to eat in the sunshine and an open-plan living space with everything you need for entertaining and relaxing. Overpackers and those planning an extended break should note there is limited storage space in the second bedroom. If you’d like to explore your surroundings, Wapping Woods is on your doorstep, and it takes around eleven minutes via the DLR to reach Bank tube station.
