A former rectory in the quiet Carmarthenshire village of Llanedi, this house carries the kind of period character that's easy to appreciate – a grand hallway, chandelier-lit bedrooms, and a log burner in the country kitchen where long meals are all but guaranteed. Outside, a terrace with a hot tub overlooks green valleys, equally good for a lazy afternoon or an evening under the stars. Dogs are welcome, with a dedicated wash-down area by the kitchen ideal for muddy paws. The Gower Peninsula and Carreg Cennen Castle are both within an hour's drive when the mood for adventure strikes.

Rectory Reverie

This waterside penthouse is a great base for exploring the market town of Llanelli. From the lounge, sliding doors open onto a corner balcony with views of the North Dock. You’re only a short walk from the beach, and the town centre is close by if you fancy cafes, restaurants and pubs. The Llanelli Wetland Centre is less than ten minutes away, too, with its lagoon and lake area that’s home to flamingos, geese and Mandarin ducks. Inside, the decor is a little dated but fully functional. There’s no lift, so you’ll need to take the stairs to reach the apartment, but the view makes it worth it.

Dockside Daydream

A fifteen-minute walk from the sea, this pet-friendly cottage sits high on the hillside, boasting panoramic views of the wild South Wales countryside. Inside, it has a cosy, rustic charm, with exposed beams, a log-burning fireplace and a farmhouse-style kitchen that opens directly into the garden – perfect for bird-watching or serving alfresco lunches on the patio. A short stroll brings you to the quaint village of Rhossili, where you can pick up groceries or grab a bite to eat. Feeling adventurous? Mountain-biking and hiking trails lead straight from the door.

Welsh Wilderness

If you're seeking a coastal getaway, this may do the trick. Located between Port Eynon and Horton, expect to spend your days exploring picturesque towns, strolling along sandy beaches, or enjoying fish and chips like the locals do. The apartment itself is comfortable and convenient, offering everything you could need for a fuss-free stay. The shared pool is the true highlight, and its various bedroom set-ups make it a solid choice for families and friends. All in all, this place measures up nicely as a classic English seaside stay.

Tide's Embrace

Perched on the first floor, this apartment on the Gower Peninsula frames Oxwich Bay from almost every angle. The wide living room windows pull the water right into the room, and the balcony makes it easy to linger over a morning coffee while the bay shifts in the light. A real flame-effect fireplace anchors the living and dining space for cooler evenings, and the kitchen is well set up for proper cooking. Oxwich Bay beach is a ten-minute walk, with coastal and woodland trails starting from the door.

Oxwich Overture

Tucked into the village of Bishopston on the Gower Peninsula, this cottage is the kind of place where the pace slows the moment you arrive. The four-poster main bedroom sets a restful tone, while the rustic dining room, anchored by a farmhouse table, is made for unhurried evenings, with good food and drinks at the heart of it all. Step outside and you'll find a garden framed by ancient stone and mature trees, a natural spot for alfresco relaxation. Caswell Bay Beach and Mumbles Pier are both a short drive away.

Foxglove & Fresh Air

A traditional Gower cottage with an interior designer's eye, this house layers bold character across each room – from vivid tropical wallpaper to timber-beamed ceilings and a wood burner for cooler evenings. Three of the four bedrooms look out across the Gower Peninsula, and the mature garden offers a secure, flower-lined space to settle in with alfresco dining, a barbecue, and a fire pit. Port Eynon beach is walkable from the door, and short drives reach Rhossili, Three Cliffs Bay, and Oxwich for days spent exploring some of Wales's most celebrated coastline.

Gower Fire

Metres from the beach in Mumbles, this ground-floor apartment puts the sea right in front of you – the living room windows frame the water directly, and natural light pours in to match. After a day along the coast, the bathroom earns its keep, where a freestanding bath and walk-in shower make winding down easy. Mumbles village – boutique shops, cafes, galleries, bars, and restaurants – is a ten-minute walk away, so you're close enough to dip in and out without feeling like you're staying in the thick of it.

Gower Light on Mumbles Bay

Surrounded by greenery, this home is a great base for a Welsh adventure. Some of the rooms are a little snug, but you’ll find everything you need here for a relaxing stay and the outdoor space more than makes up for it. The generous garden is the perfect place for children or your four-legged friend to play, while a stroll through the garden gate across the fields takes you to Llangennith beach. After working up an appetite outdoors, stop by the village pub for some homemade food and authentic ales.

Greens of Llangennith

Out in the wilds of the Gower peninsula, this traditionally-built stone house makes for a grand country retreat. Walking trails snake across the land, and following fields and footpaths can see you at the local Llangennith pub in twenty minutes or perhaps stop at the general store for home baking and a hot coffee. Hopping in the car, you can be at Whiteford Beach Car Park in eight minutes for a glorious walk to the empty beaches of the Gower coast, while Swansea is just a forty-minute drive away.

At the home itself, you’re on a hill, giving you a fabulous panorama of fields and forest as far as the eye can see. Perhaps enjoy lunch at the picnic tables on the decking as you take in the view. Six acres of wildland surround the home, so there's plenty of space for kids to run around and you might encounter the resident sheep, keeping the grass cut.

If the wind gets too much, head inside to the cosy living room where a wooden-beamed ceiling retains an old farmhouse feel, especially with a fire crackling away in the wood-burner. It doesn’t matter if the weather turns when you’ve got a glass conservatory to enjoy the view from. A second sitting room adds a third option for the group to spread out, and this one is furnished with holiday reads if you want to unwind, analogue-style.

Sun After The Storm

Just a stroll from Oxwich Bay's long sandy beach, dubbed one of the finest in the country, this spacious home dates back to the 1840s. Extended and smartly modernised over the years, it still retains much of its old-world charm, with wood beams (thought to have been originally taken from a local shipwreck) and a delightful stone fireplace in the cosy living room – perfect for winter escapes. But if you're visiting in the summer months, this home has a rather special feature. In its private, walled courtyard you'll find a heated swimming pool.

Set on the crest of a hill, there are some excellent sea views to be had from the first floor – including from the roll-top bathtub. And there's a large conservatory where you can sit and enjoy the sunshine, with Georgian-style French doors opening out to a lovely sunny patio with outdoor sofas. Cooking at home will be a breeze in the large and well-equipped kitchen and if you're lucky with the weather you can choose to barbecue down by the pool.

Just a short walk from a restaurant and a hotel, there's also a local castle to explore and some of the best coastal footpaths are easily accessed from your door. Further afield, Rhossili is just a seventeen-minute drive and The Mumbles is twenty-five minutes away.
