Despite its reputation for being an expensive city to explore, there's a whole host of free things to do in London.
Explore the museums From the V&A to the National Gallery, many of London’s museums are free to enter. Kids will love the larger-than-life dinosaur skeletons at the Natural History Museum, while culture vultures will want to tour the Tate Modern. Make sure to take in the views from the tenth-floor terrace.
Enjoy fresh air at the many parks In London, green spaces abound. The most famous is Hyde Park, but we think Regents Park, St James Park and Kensington Gardens are just as noteworthy. Richmond Park, on the outskirts of the city, is where wild deer roam the sprawling 800 acres. Trust us – it’s well worth a ride to the end of the District Line.
Take in the views at the Sky Garden There are many free things to do in London from ground level, but few offer the chance to view London sights from higher up. The Sky Garden is the city’s highest public garden, occupying the top floors of the ‘Walkie Talkie’ building. The panoramic views are arguably some of the best in the capital, but it gets busy, so book your visit in advance.
