The upside-down layout means the living space gets the best of the sunshine from the south-facing windows, and provides views across the harbour and South Beach – though you'll pay for the vistas with some steep hill walks back from town. In the evening, with the woodburner lit, you won't want to leave this cosy space – but on summer evenings, you might prefer drinks with a sunset on the private terrace. For those wishing to explore more of the Yorkshire coast, Whitby is just a forty-minute drive away.
