A restored 1940s homestead on two-and-a-half private acres bordering Joshua Tree National Park, this house it not to be passed up. Soak in the cedar hot tub as mountain silhouettes darken against the evening sky, or gather around the fire pit among ancient junipers as the Mojave night closes in. The rec room dissolves the boundary between inside and out, while the main bedroom's timber-beamed ceiling and reading nook make it easy to lose track of time entirely. Joshua Tree National Park itself is a twenty-five-minute drive.

Home truths
You'll need a car to get around – parking for two cars is available on the premises.
Many of the local roads are unpaved dirt tracks, so a standard car will do the job but take them slowly – especially after rain.
You're in a remote high-desert location where mobile service is unreliable. Your host recommends using wi-fi calling for phone-based communication during your stay.
If you're travelling with a young child, your host can provide a high chair. Request it in advance to make sure it's ready on arrival.
