Five acres of raw Californian desert, entirely to yourself – no roads, no neighbours, just ancient boulders and Joshua trees pressing in on all sides. This house was designed by local architect Martin Brunner to sit quietly within the Rimrock landscape, and it earns that ambition: floor-to-ceiling glass frames uninterrupted rock panoramas from the living area, while a private wellness deck with an outdoor soaking tub lets you bathe under an open sky as the light shifts. Come evening, the fire pit terrace draws you outside to watch the desert darken. Pappy & Harriet's and Pioneertown are a ten-minute drive when you're ready for the world again.
