A mile from the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park, this desert house is a dream come true. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame craggy mountains and open Mojave scrubland from the living room, while the infinity-edge lap pool and integrated hot tub bring the landscape right to the water's edge. Three independent suites give everyone space to retreat, while the pool deck and alfresco dining table make it easy to come together as the sun goes down. Joshua Tree Village is just a five-minute drive away, making it easy to head out and explore.

Home truths
You'll need a car here. The house sits on unpaved desert roads, which can develop ruts after rain, though a four-wheel-drive vehicle isn't required. Parking is available for up to four cars.
Cell service in the high desert is patchy and varies by provider – we recommend enabling wi-fi calling or downloading a VoIP app before you leave home.
This is a single-level home, which may suit those with reduced mobility.
The three bedrooms are arranged as private suites. Two have private exterior entrances, while the third is just off the living area. All three have en-suite bathrooms and direct access to the outside.
