A 1970s stone ranch house sitting at the edge of Yucca Valley, with Joshua Tree National Park just a twenty-three-minute drive away and hiking trails leading directly from the front door. The fenced two-acre backyard is where you'll spend most of your time – a heated pool and spa framed by Joshua Trees, a fire pit for cooler evenings, and a terrace for unhurried alfresco meals. Inside, a bright cacti sunroom and a converted studio for yoga add texture to what is already an unusually well-considered retreat for groups or anyone craving a proper desert reset.

Home truths

  • At full occupancy, one guest will sleep on the sofa bed in the living area.

  • If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot, rollaway bed, or air mattress on request, as well as a high chair.

  • Mobile signal in the high desert varies by network provider and can be unreliable, particularly in more remote spots nearby. We recommend enabling wi-fi calling or downloading a VOIP app before you arrive so you're not caught out.

  • Some of the roads around the area are unpaved and can develop ruts, especially after rain. A four-wheel drive isn't required, but take it steady – a standard car will manage fine if you slow down.

  • The lead guest must be at least 21 years old.
