Dine among the pines on the deck as dusk settles over Big Bear – this mountain house makes the forest feel like your backyard. Timber-clad interiors, a wood-burning stove, and a hot tub on the deck mean you're equally well set for cold evenings in. Bear Mountain Ski Resort is a twelve-minute drive for days on the slopes, while Big Bear Lake is a twenty-two-minute walk for kayaking and paddleboarding when the snow melts. A volleyball court and pool table keep things lively whenever the mountain air turns cold.

Home truths
One of the bedrooms sleeps up to six guests in a king-size bed and two bunk beds. We think this room might be best suited to children.
One of the double bedrooms has a pull-down bed.
There's no air conditioning here, so summer stays can warm up during the day. The elevation and tree cover help keep things cooler than the valley, but it's worth packing a fan if you're sensitive to heat.
In winter, your host will clear the driveway and a path to the front door, and shovels are on hand if you want to clear other parts of the grounds yourself.
While the home can sleep up to 12 people, the maximum occupancy is 10 guests.
Due to this home's location, we recommend hiring a car to get the most out of your stay. There's free parking for up to four cars on the driveway.
